Great tour with our guide/driver Allan. The weather was great and the birds, skies and views were beautiful.
Allan is a good nature guide and storyteller with fun stories.

Amazing experience which is a must if in the area. 6½ hour tour that goes so fast because of the superb planning and non stop commentary. If you can get Charles as your driver guide you are in for an exceptional experience. There are light refreshments and toilets at the end of the spit and also part way out. Times vary with the tides so you can get an afternoon/evening tour with jaw dropping views as the sun goes down. Can't recommend this tour too highly.

One of the most enjoyable and informative day trips ever, Allan (our driver) was extremely passionate about the Spit and the wildlife. His knowledge is exceptional, even providing the Maori names for the birds etc. Lovely calm morning going to the Lighthouse and then to experience the opposite returning was enlightening - no exfoliant needed that evening! Thanks Allan, you are a great ambassador.

Enjoyed the tour however it ran 40 minutes shorter than described. When stopping to view points of interest, appeared to factor front and left of bus. Sadly we were mid right behind task seats. The commentary felt very scripted. Was also disappointed that the two did not show the end of the spit. I was expecting to be able to see this.

Unique experience! Something to tick off our bucket list. We had the pleasure of having Allan as our guide. His experience, knowledge, respect and passion was just delightful. A great day out. Fully recommend bringing binoculars although there are some communal pairs.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided fantastic commentary. He stopped often giving us opportunities to walk around and take photos. His understanding of the different birds and seals was top notch. Awesome to have such a fantastic experience on a bucket list item.

We had such a great day. The wind was quiet lol. Our tour guide Paddy was awesome. A wealth of knowledge of his local environment. A must do tour. Collingwood is a must do and stop and stay holiday to enjoy and experience all the beauty Collingwood has too offer. We enjoyed our 35th anniversary 4days we spent in Collingwood

Highly experienced provider delivering a well informed and enjoyable tour. The only disappointment was the bland muffin!

This was unlike any tour I have done before and the main reason is the tours time length. We were out for close to 7 hours. The folk who run these tours have permits to operate in areas the public are not allowed to enter. They have these permits because they maintain, monitor and do environmental work in these areas. To say they are motivated in sharing their enthusiasm with their clients is an understatement. Every tour they do would be different because of season, time of day and tide. If you have friends who live in a different part of the world and you went to visit them and they took you out for the day and showed you around the sights, nature and historic sites, for the day this is how this tour comes across to me. Our guides know the area from a historical sense and the nature that exists along way. They want to share this with you and they do. Loved every minute of the trip, the guides and the total experience. Recommend it as good as it gets.

Great tour on a perfect day on Saturday. Best guide, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We were discussing if this tour was the best thing we have done this year and we came to the conclusion it is up there. Paddy's knowledge at the lighthouse was incredible and interesting. Maybe Paddy is the 4th generation as an owner of this tour?
Amazing.
Do this tour it is amazing! HGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As an experienced NZ tour guide, this an awesome tour and experience. Paddy and his team take such a pride in presenting Cape Farewell and Farewell Spit. Was there with a group only 10 days ago. Back there in 3 weeks.
The wild life, bird life and the whole environment is fabulous. Actually got to see a large Sea Leopard basking.
If you're interested in seeing pics and commentary, on Facebook go to Graham Highet your guide.
Go and enjoy. So much history involved.

Be aware this one-off tour experience is a snug and cosy ride (cramped) I would have thought this high profile tourist venture would dispose of these aged vehicles. Don't get me wrong the tour is very good, well rehearsed and scripted (informative) It would have been nice to have the generous flow of of data and information edited to allow quiet time from the slightly high decibel feed. A friendly driver and and communicative business.

Had the best day yesterday doing this tour for the first time. I really recommend it. Our guide Anton, had so much knowledge and enlightened us about the history, flora and fauna, all with a good dose of droll Kiwi humour. Such a majestic, and other worldly place. Great value.
