Hooked on Marahau reviews
45Not usually one to leave a review, but I have been to Hooked a few times this season. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Always in for a fantastic time whether were a pair or a large group. Great work on the pork ribs! Bit chaotic last time. Went to sit and turns out the table was reserved. Bit of stress, though the kind Aussie manager Scotty made it work for us, always makes us welcome. Love the decor and atmosphere!
Cafe Hooked stands out as a gem among New Zealand’s culinary landscape, effortlessly securing its position within my top three cafes across the country. From the moment you step inside, the freshness of their ingredients becomes apparent, a testament to their commitment to quality and flavor. Each dish I’ve had the pleasure of sampling resonated with a comforting essence of home, a rare find in the bustling cafe scene.
But it’s not just the food that sets Cafe Hooked apart; it’s the service. The staff here operate at a top-tier level, combining professionalism with warmth in a manner that makes every visit memorable. They have a unique way of making each guest feel thoroughly attended to, yet never rushed, striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving space to enjoy the meal.
In conclusion, Cafe Hooked is more than just a place to eat; it’s a culinary experience that reminds you of home while offering the freshest, most delightful dishes. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, missing out on this cafe would mean missing out on one of the finest dining experiences New Zealand has to offer.
A great location, great food selection and a good beer and wine list with the most friendly service. Excellent.
Excellent food and impeccable service. Our Waitress Noemi was fantastic and incredibly attentive, we will definitely be visiting again!
Coffee all right, nice service, but the wifi is paid.
Update: the staff tried their best to resolve the situation. Promissed to change it in the future.
We found this restaurant by chance during our journey to kairiteriteri and here we found this lovely warm restaurant with friendly staff
Excellent gluten free muffins. Light, delicious, and enjoyed with the Abel Tasman in the backdrop.
Love this place. Had to make the trip to stop here for lunch. Shared the beauty of this quaint restaurant with the family and not disappointed. Food was as perfect as it was 2 years ago on my last visit. Good variety. Vegetarian options. Good coffee. Located near water activities so perfect for after hike or kayak. Wheelchair access and great ablutions facilities. Retail shop next door for anything extra needed.
I'm sitting overlooking a still sea and eating the most amazing gluten free orange and date muffin.yes.a GF muffin! Anyone who is GF knows how hard it is to find a decent home baked GF muffin. Well, Hooked sure does take the cake on this one!
Have been staying at Sandy Bay for three nights and have eaten at Hooked twice. Both times have been great evenings. Highly recommend.
Best Ribs I've had in a long time. Incredible food, great size portions to make up for the cost. Nice view over the bay.
We loved this spot! After reading all the great reviews we whipped over from Kaiteriteri for an early dinner. The pork ribs were 20/10 good (and MASSIVE) and the mussels were tasty and light. Service was lovely and atmosphere was beautiful and very relaxing. We will definitely be back before we leave!
Got a coffee (which was okay) and a banana bread for 19$. Def the most pricey place in town, but the banana bread was very good.
Fantastic food, perfect menu and the salads in the Budda bowl and fish and chips were so fresh. Loved the charred bread with garlic butter too. 5 stars for the food and the friendly service, the wine recommendations were perfect too and the beers perfectly chilled. Perfect end to a day spent in the Abel Tasman national park. Make sure you book so you don’t miss out and get there for happy hour. Thanks to the delightful Melissa:)
I popped in at 3pm for a snack and tea and was good used the wifi and staff were helpful and friendly. I went back for dinner in the evening and the food was good they kindly did not put chilli in the white wine sauce for the mussel. Had a nice beer. The issues for me was that as I used the wifi at 3pm I would have had to pay for it in the evening which is not right and my beer went to another table before serving it to me and then 5 minutes later my mussels were sent to another table even with my pathetic attempt to wave and whisper that they were for me. The view is also wonderful
Our booking had not been entered and front desk service pretty unorganised so were placed at a small bar table instead. I would expect better food for this price, don’t expect too much in terms of quality here. Food did not look like previous review photos.
We had a wonderful lunch here on Thursday. Service was genuine and engaging. Sunny and sheltered outside dining area with comfy cushions. The Fijian raw fish dish was particularly yummy.
Ordered Fish and chips, I think it was around $35 didn’t come with tomatoe sauce, I asked if I could have some and too my surprise they charge for tomatoe sauce on Fish and chips, that was strange, the fish was well over cooked on both my wife’s meal and my own
The Waite staff were nice
Delightful! Food was very tasty, fish was fresh. Excellent service, would recommend popping in after a hike.
Great Budda bowl with tofu (tofu was well seasoned which is appreciated for us vegetarians!). The service was the best part - we had Melissa taking care of us and she was so kind and wonderful!
