Murchison Tea Rooms

Haven't been here, for about 10 years. I'm glad I did. (instead of the other cafè further along, that I always visit. Just too busy)
There is a HUGE menu here. Atmosphere is great. The 2 ladies that served me, Penny and Shannon, are great! Whenever I'm passing through, I will choose this café every time, now.

Steak and cheese pie was prob the best I have ever had and I have had a few. Will stop in there again. Thanks

Gorgeous quaint tea rooms with a lovely warm seat in the sun. Recommend the award winning quiche and salad. I have never had a salad as good as this. Reminds me of the food my granny cooked.

Honestly one of the saddest pies I have ever eaten. Almost no filling, absolutely no cheese, and zero flavour.
Chips had been in the cabinet for way too long and were soggy and lukewarm, and despite asking for lots of chicken salt I got none.
Staff were friendly, atmosphere was decent, and previous experiences here have been passable, but after this I won’t be back sorry.

Saddest pie I have ever had. Honestly didn't taste like mince at all. It had a sweetness to it and it had a lot of fillers. The chips are a bit sad out of the hot plate and hardly salted. I will go to the pub next time

Visited here for the first time today, coffee was great! Perfect for an early morning stop on the trip north.

Came in for a coffee, ended up having breakfast, lovely service, delicious food great prices, perfect last lunch on our roadie, would definitely recommend the eggs bene:) if we find ourselves in Murchison again we will definitely be back!

Nice cafe to grab some snacks, or coffee. We usually just buy a sandwich and coffee as we travel through Murch. No complaints at all. In fact the sandwiches are a great price. Cheaper than other cafés and really delicious.

Had a latte here. It was just what I needed.
Friendly staff. Plenty of seating. Toilets were clean.

We have stopped here for years, every time we pass through Murchison. Service was great, food was fantastic. Best place in town. Sad to say the business was sold in 2020? The food is now just 'ok'. One staff member in particular is a sour, miserable old bag. She is rude and tends to ignore you when you enter the shop. Friends say the same thing. What a shame - It used to be such a lovely spot.

GF people, this is the ultimate, totally delicious GF quiche. Lovely people, award winning quiche, do try!

Did you know this place has keto fast foods available. Sausage rolls, quiche and 1 or 2 other keto foods similar to heat. The sausage rolls are deliciously seasoned!
Next time I pass I will try all the keto products.
Oh, and the staff once again are exceptional!

One of the best places to get inn for breakfast while travelling from Nelson to Christchurch. Recommended

Great breakfast, loads of bacon, eggs just the way i asked and loads of it. Lasted me all day, well worth it.

Nice place with everything you need. Many options for food which was yum. Did stand at the till for about 5+ mins before i had someone come out to serve

Very good food. I left my drink bottle here and the staff kept it until I was able to pick it up

Amazing food! The pies were wonderful, a cute little spot for a family road trip when everyone is hungry, five stars would recommend.

Lovely tearoom and outside seated area, great coffee and cabinet food selection, even some keto options. Clean toilets.
