I went twice this week. Service was nice, chips were excellent. I ordered and paid top $ for a filet of gurnard which I specifically asked about but got a huge piece of snapper! No offer to fry or batter. Even though the snapper tasted lovely, its not what i ordered. People do know what fish is what! Too far away to drive back

Bacon & Egg burger was delicious especially with the homemade meat patty. Chips were cooked perfectly

I've always had decent fish n chips from here and the steak n cheese burger is delicious. Keep up the good work

Quite a wait, but worth it.
Appeared to be a lot of phone orders & there appeared to be only one cooking. I may be wrong with this observation.

It's ok. Chips are great. Battered sausage came without batter! Mini hotdogs are more like tiny hot dogs. Standard hot dog was great. Cheese burger was nice but the buns were kinda tough. I'm not used to that

Prices on website are completely wrong. Came here looking to get a cheap take out dinner for the kids and it costs double the price it says on there menu.

Fish was ok but asked for crunchy chips and they were all sloppy. Disappointing especially because I specifically asked for crunchy. Wouldn't go again.

Chips were lovely and big portions. But myself and my girlfriend both got the worst burgers we have ever had (cheese and chicken burgers). So avoid!

Fish was over cooked. Which spoilt our meal. Portion sizes okay, sadly over cooked which is inexcusable when they weren't busy.

Best fish n chip shop in NZ. Always consistently cooked. Fish is good portion size and chips are perfect.

Really disappointed with the chip portion size, 2 1/2 scoops looked more like 1 1/2. Would not recommend, terrible value for money!

My grandson was stoked with his chips, sausage and mini hotdog tonight. Perfectly cooked, the nicest chips and friendly service.

I only had the gurnard. The batter resembles the one on chicken nuggets. It was crunchy, not greasy and felt light as you ate it. Only downfall is the portion was a bit small. I could and should have ordered two.

Amazing value for what you get. Large pieces of fish. Not too oily or thick batter. Just perfect. Highly recommend

Ordered Gurnard, Kumara and beer battered chips to go. When I went to collect it, we realized that my order have been accidentally given to the wrong person so they had to re cook my order.

As part of their service recovery, they gave me extra portion of fries which was really nice of them! The food all tasted amazing and we will definitely be back again for more fish and chips!

I did a phone order they said 20 mins I had to wait another 45 mins in store when we got home we were missing a fish and our extra bits for the burgers we paid for,
we dont usually go to this fish n chip shop I now know why definitely wont be going back.

I used to own a fish and chip shop in Riwaka, so take it from me, the current owners of the Wheelhouse cook the best fish and chips in the district!

Great tidy little fish and chip shop. Good food, and reasonable prices. I watched the staff work. They are a slick well oiled machine.
