DO NOT use them. Horrible customer service. They are unclear about charges and won’t show you any numbers on paperwork. We were told it will be NZD 270 for 3 days on the phone but we were charged for NZD 868! I called, emailed and filed the claim on the website, but no explanation or apology after. Worst car rental experience ever. I will never use Avis again.
Zero stars. I will never use Avis again based on the horrible customer service we received from this location. I could not get useful information out of any employee at any stage of the process. They lied on the phone and in person about pricing, and they lie about what time you returned the car even when you’re standing right in front of them.
I travel frequently and will never book with Avis again.
Our car broke down while travelling. We were very desperate to get to Napier. The team at Avis were very accommodating and looked after us and our needs. They were really understanding of our situation and made the process very seamless. Awesome team
Stranded in Taupo after a cheap car rental failed on us in Taupo. Airport closed due to weather. Nil other cars available to rent in Taupo. Brent from Avis was very kind to come and collect us, family of 4, and our ski gear from Taupo airport at 7pm with his personal car and assist us renting an Avis car all the way to Auckland. Understandable one way fees and other costs, just want to appreciate the humanity in some people.thanks Brent
Make sure you enquire about the "One way" fee! $180.00, as we discovered after dropping the Corolla off at Auckland Airport. Not mentioned either at the telephone booking, or on collecting the vehicle. $650.00 for 2 1/2 days rental. As for the Sat Nav-there wasn't one fitted to the vehicle, although we had been assured on collection of the vehicle, that we could use it.
