35What a gem, this quaint and cool cafe/restaurant is gorgeous. Great atmosphere and service and fantastic food. Whether popping in for a cocktail or lazy long lunch this place hits the spot. 10/10
Food was amazing I think I'll be craving it for sometime. Staff were lovely. The fried chicken, deep fried cauliflower and pickles were awesome.
We walked past at 4pm, when they were closed and there was a sign saying “closed,
Open 5pm-9pm” so we planned to come back later. We were really looking forward to going, but we turned up at 8: 15pm, when they supposedly close at 9pm, and there was a sign outside saying they were closed. Very disappointing, we went elsewhere and had lovely pizza. So I can’t comment on food but don’t advertise hours and then not be open for those hours!
Cool little Mexican joint, just off the main drag. Friendly staff, sunny vibes, and good craft beer list. Fish tacos were particularly fresh and summery.
Our first time visit and was quite disappointed as my chicken burrito was very dry and not seasoned well. Hubbies meal lacked aswell. I ordered a red wine received a white plus their seemed no order as different waitresses kept coming to ask have you ordered dinner, drinks etc. Not a good first impression.
I will say though the staff were friendly so that's a plus nice and close to town
Epic Food and drinks, Epic Service and Epic people. All round great place and very accommodating for kids.highly recommend
Delicious Nachos and a big serve! Tacos were also tasty and filing. Great vibe with music and lots of outdoor seating. Plenty of car parking. Service was also great, very friendly and quick!
I'm a big fan of Mexican food (the "real" stuff, SoCal Mex, TexMex.you name it), and this was probably the best Mexican meal I've eaten in New Zealand. The fried pickles and jalapeño poppers we ordered as entrees were absolutely mouth-watering, and the mains (between us we ordered two quesadillas, the nachos and a couple of tacos) were all delicious with wonderful, complex flavours and generous portions. What's more, despite being busy the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
Our favourite place in Whitianga! This family run place always blows us away. The food is clearly made with love. So flavourful and well composed. The staff is warm and welcoming and happy to help with any questions, so don't be shy if you don't know mexican food!
The wonderful bartender makes beautiful cocktails and the perfect classic Margarita. Some of our menu favourites are poppers (no one else does them like this!), the chicken mole taco, the HUGE nachos and the beef burrito, oh and the churros! Honestly, you can't go wrong.
We love their ferry landing location and look forward to their move to Whitianga proper! This place is a MUST GO!
Margaritas so small and expensive. The worst we have ever had. Watery lime juice pretty much
Guacamole and salsa consisted of some guacamole and a little bit of diced tomato. Not salsa in a separate dish. Nachos and burritos ok. Baja fish dry with the same little amount of so called guacamole and salsa.
Nothing much Mexican about it
Feels like we are in Mexico. The decoration hanging on the wall are sumbrero, platito and Mexico litrato. Mexican food were superb. Highly recommended.
Food was amazing. Had the Chicken Mole which had a really nice depth of flavour and level of spice.
Yummy gluten free options and were able to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
Wish we lived closer as this would definitely be a favourite for repeat visits.
Thanks for a wonderful evening! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere fun and the food delicious. Highly recommended!
We had waited a long time to get here from Australia on our trip and it was worth it. Great food and great hosts, highly recommended!
Food excellent presentation
See photos atmosphere very well suited to locals and visitors. I spent an hour here and was slightly thirsty. I quickly downed 2 cups of coffee and almost had a 3rd.
There's no large cup offered. The blend is Atomic which is very smooth almost creamy taste. We then ordered 3 dishes for 3 of us. Crumbed octopus bites, Cauliflour breaded in beetroot sauce.
Nachos avocado and sour cream
All tastefully presented but I still felt hungry afterwards
Incredible food - some of the most authentic Mexican we've had this side of the world. Really really outstanding. The restaurant itself is low-key but with a good atmosphere, would highly recommend if in the area.
Fabulous food at Cooked. Popped in for a drink to get out of the rain and ended up eating here as it smelt so great. Food was fantastic! So glad we stopped. Staff were so friendly and helpful. And a HUGE thank you for loaning us the umbrella - it would have been a ropey walk home without it. Thank you so much, we will drop it back tomorrow!
Such a gem of a place with great coffee and spectacular tacos. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. Easily recommend.
Great food, taco portions on the small side but the reat was good. Margaritas also on the small side but was delish
Called in for breakfast on a whim. Fantastic Mexican inspired breakfast. Clean and tasty fare. A lovely friendly atmosphere and setting. Thank you.
