Four Square Tairua reviews
26Everything you need in a 4 Square. Bit cold for the staff first thing in the morning but they look like they can hack it.
Great local shop, good supply of almost everything needed.
Support local businesses.
Very good experience as if in another Four Square shop in the big city. Well can only expect what goods are popular in the neighborhood. Have all basic needs one can expect for a Tairua town size.
You work in customer service, stop talking down to your customers! Definitely will not be back.
Over priced and out of stock on a lot of items.especially bread.one loaf left on the shelf at 4pm. Feel sorry for locals here paying holiday prices in winter. Will definitely bring food up next time we stay up here. Should have a loyalty card for locals.
The shop was there ready To open sat.
Plenty of parking
A middle of the night rest up, the customer tarakihi takeaway from across the road
Another adventure
Travelling with the DOG in the road cone
Wow visited this store today and both my wife and I were definitely shocked at what we experienced - The Worst Covid response in retail and a huge huge over reaction!
First image was the line of customers outside on the footpath
But then standing at the door and observing perhaps 3 or four employees inside & a managed dribble of customers- 3 or four allowed to enter
And the big guy at the counter shouting “come, stop, what do you want, stand over there, no not there” etc
This is level 2 right? No it felt like level 6 & who in nz hasn’t experienced level the mid year level 5?
These people were seriously over the top - like they finally had control over something and just beyond reality
Please avoid this place unless you want feel like experiencing a step back on history to Germany in the 1940’s!
Very very strange control freak behavior
Absolutely rude people. Thinking they are doing YOU a favour by serving/selling to you. Loud arrogant male at the door. Dont go there if you have a choice.
Was in a convenient place had a good range of groceries.customer service was ok, greeted and thanked for shopping there.
Great selection. Staff working really hard stocking shelves to keep up with the shopping public.
Quite over priced. 2 hours prior to closing various fresh vegis and fruits completely missing. Service only ok I have to say sorry.
Expensive little place, but we are comparing to the major cities. It was well stocked and had everything we were after. Little under staffed when we went in, but staff that were there were pleasant enough.
Over priced.but I guess convenient if unable to go to the bigger stores.shop keepers are always happy.very sharp with the covid safety side of keeping all safe while shopping
We have spent most of the summer in Tairua but we live in Auckland. We have been in isolation the whole time in Tairua, with seven family members because we all live together in Auckland and a change of scenery was needed. We send hubby to shop today and he gets accused of coming down from Auckland to shop! Good grief, where is the common sense? We have spent plenty of money in your shop over the last three months and continue to do so, while our three cafes in Auckland are closed and clocking up debt by the day. Please show some respect towards your customers, be grateful that you can still operate, have jobs etc, we are all in this together.
BE KIND.
Young lad who served us was polite and professional, but the older woman (supervisor perhaps?) could do with a serious attitude adjustment. He had to try twice to get her attention as she was busy chatting, and then her demeanour was less than impressive for someone who works in customer service.
Nice supermarket in Tairua. Not a huge selection of everything and anything a tourist might want but everything you would need. Clean store, helpful staff.
I love a 4 square and this one has lots of it.and plenty more, I went in hungry and came out even more hungry however I had bags of great stuff to make me not hungry.although have to say spiced rum custard failed to meet expectation, Trump purchases his raw ingredients for scroggin and pavlova here
Everything you need for a quick shopping visit or that ingredient that you forgot for a a meal.
Bought a box of quinoa seeds salad, some green leaves on top didn't seem to be very fresh, I picked them out and ate the rest anyway. 15-20 mins after I felt pretty sick in my stomach and it lasted for some time until I vomited. Very disappointed.
A well stocked example of the Four Square chain. Passably clean and tidy inside, but obviously in need of some TLC at some point. Prices are average for a Four Square, which is to say a little on the pricey side with the odd good discount here and there. The person at the checkout was very friendly and outgoing. Given that there are no other supermarkets in Tairua, one is pretty much stuck for choice in terms of having to use this one, but it's not the world's worst Clayton's choice, ha ha.
