Grasshopper Chip Bar reviews
46 Very popular. Food was excellent. We had 2 chinese dishes as well as crumbed fish. All excellent. Generous portions. Good value.
Will definitely go again
Definitely worth a visit and definitely recommend the won ton soup. The fried rice was awesome too.
Amazing.perfect.every meal was perfect.chow main fried rice and sweet and spur wonton! Beautiful
Not value for money. I ordered $10 chips which were sparse and the same amount as $5 worth of chips I ordered a month ago. Rip off not worth it.
Went on Trip Advise recommendations.bit disappointing. Food was average with very little flavour. Reasonably priced and good selection just needs more taste
Good service, but everytime have to ask for
Cashew nuts which is not good. But other than that nice food an plenty of it.
Great choice for Fish & Chips deals if you're visiting Taupo. $28 deal fed a hungry family of 4 while busy swimming. Friendly service - great taste reminds me of fish n chips from childhood in the 90s. Big portions of fish, delicious fritters and hot dogs. Ordered over the phone and food was promptly ready for pick up. Will definitely order here again next time I'm in Taupo.
Beautiful food with generous servings, the only downside was we were told 15-20 minutes and it took 40
Huge portions and tasty food!
Prices are very reasonable especially with these portions. For the same price I get much less in the other take away shop in the town.
The only thing was the wait which was longer than told or expected in a take away shop, but I wasn't so bothered by it as it was their rush time and was worth it!
Overall, great!
Lovely Chinese food, just a little let down by a long wait while others ordered fried food/hot chips and went
I always go in after work and get a smorgasbord board container in my opinion best Chinese food in taupo.
Usually I go to my closest Fish and Chips shop cause I'm a lazy sod, thankfully for me the closest is also the best around here. Always a good bit of grub and hits the spot! The burger selection is vast and tasty and the huuuuge smorgasbord has something for everyone.
Visitors to Taupo passing through, we were recommended to try a takeaway from the Grasshopper. Best decision of the day. The place was ultra clean and well presented with a wide range of Chinese classics plus fish and chips. My chicken in blackbean and my wife's fish & kumara chips were delicious and prices were reasonable. While we were waiting this guy collects his order and says keep the change.a $10 bill. The woman at the counter refused the tip saying it was their pleasure to serve good food! We were impressed.
Definitely the best in taupo. The wait is a while but only because they are busy (being the best in taupo) so worth the wait.
We ordered chicken fried noodles and a mixed nasi goreng, both quantity and quality is quite satisfactory. Would have given a 5 star if there were wee bit more veges. Amount of chicken and meat were generous but could have done with little bit more veges.customer service is a 5* without a doubt
Chicken chow mein was not a chow mein. There was way to much meat and not enough noodles. The noodles were also the crispy noodles added to a sauce so it made them soggy. Also gave us free wontons, a very kind gesture, but they weren't cooked in the middle.
On the other hand the Chicken soup was lovely! Enjoyed alot.
Best fish n chips ive ever had worth the value n then paua fritter is on point will be back when im back in town
Got the chinese special for $24 for 2 people. It is a huge portion, we could not finish it. The fried wontons were very yummy, the pork was pretty good but the rice was so so. Some parts were very clumpy and it didn't taste very fresh. I wouldn't go for that option again because it's too much food for 2 people and also it just felt like too much of the same thing. The buffet seemed to be very popular, as it was cheap and you get more options. It was very busy and small groups of people kept coming in. Fast paced environment.
This place was recommended by the motel manager where we were staying. We ordered fish and eggs burgers and minimum chips. The burgers had big buns and were stuffed full of fish. They were delicious and we were so full didnt really need the chips. The price was really reasonable too. The Chinese buffet looked incredible too.
