Hillcrest Medical Centre reviews
39Even with a booked appt we're regularly left waiting 30+ min after the appt time to be seen. Can't even get an appt for 10 days. Drs are arrogant and uninterested.
Amazing! A GP picked up on signs of seizures in my young child, sent an urgent referral and he was diagnosed st the hospital within 24 hours! Highly rate this practice.
We can’t speak highly enough of our GPs at Hillcrest Medical, where our family has been going for over 10 years. The level of care, professionalism, compassion, dedication & after-hours follow-up has always been outstanding. We feel very lucky to be registered there and would not consider going anywhere else.
The nurses and receptionists have also been very helpful and knowledgeable.
It is a busy medical centre, which unfortunately means that it can be difficult to get urgent appointments through reception.
The pharmacy and other medical services next door are very convenient.
Highly recommended.
One of the worst medical centre in New Zealand. No appointments for a week all the time. Do we really need a medical centre like this? They should stop taking new patients as they don’t even try to accommodate the current patients.
Out of curiosity you can't help rubber-necking the one star ratings. Makes for sad and confused reading. I have been with these guys for near on 30 years. I CAN'T SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH OF ALL OF THEM. The receptionists and my regular doctor and sometimes when I need to see other GPs (your Dr. IS allowed to take holidays) have been exemplary professionals. For the love of God, they are working a busy junction, a live runway, whatever colourful metaphor that you wish to employ and yet at all times I have been grateful for their care, cooperation and ability to respond and help. I have NO hesitation in recommending all their services to anyone. I am also registered and use the Hampstead Group Practice in London and a similar facility in Milano, Italy and I can happily attest to that by international comparison, the Hillcrest practice stands on rank. I thank them all for helping to keep me well, safe and probably, alive. Priceless the legacy. Immeasurable the good.
Extremely rude receptionists. Some are nice and helpful but others are really rude and unhelpful, especially one of the "Kays", not sure which one but she is rude from the moment she picks up the phone. They act like you booking an appointment is an imposition on them and they try to tell you to go to another medical practice. Would not recommend.
Was planning to sign up with Hillcrest medical centre as they are only up the road from where i live. However I couldn't understand why it took 2 days to register before I could see a doctor and when i questioned it i got talked too very ruddly by the receptionist and hung up on. I found that Very unprofessional and not what i have experienced with other medical centres.
One passive aggressive receptionist and a GP that makes fun of your disorders - wouldn’t recommend for people with mental health issues if you wanna be taken seriously
I have been with this medical center for over 7 years.
Always had great doctors but in the last 12 months it is a disaster to make an appointment within 7 days of calling - not much point seeing the doctor when that is the case!
Horrible medical center. Staff are extremely incompetent and don’t even know what they are doing. The nurses never answer the phone and the receptionist would just say they are busy and will call back later, but they don’t even care to call back.
Always helpful and friendly, best to plan a week or two ahead, personally when I need to go, I do preplan.
Receptionist are good and friendly from the times I have had to deal with them, I have been with Hillcrest for just over 2 years now, never anything negative to be said, all can say is great things, I do say plan ahead if it's possible.
Don't try a last minute approach to your health care as NZ providers are busy, I understand that fact.
I am extremely happy and grateful for the service I get, they are fantastic, it's all helped by planning ahead at all times.
Been with these guys on and off for over 25 years. Had many negative experiences but some good doctors too. I always turn up on time for my appointment but always have to wait at least 45 minutes past appointment time to see the doctor, assume you will be there for a couple of hours. This isn't an in/out thing. The times I've tried to make appointments this last year or so I've been told no one is available to see me, the last time I was offered an appointment 9 days later. I'm pregnant and in pain so a&e it was $90 later. Will probably change doctors very soon. Do not recommend to be honest. Doctors seem pretty good though.
Receptionist are useless and struggle to do there jobs always have negative experiences when going there slack as also I understand being busy from covid and stuff but to give a over the phone appointment where u just get told to book a face to face and that's it amd then gett charge $55 for it is pretty rude to
Hillcrest Healthcare center. For all your medical services one of the best healthcare center is this in Hillcrest area.
Needed to see a my GP today, and I was told by reception that the nearest date I could get was the 13th of June.almost two weeks away! I get that times are harder, and I have always liked the service in the past, but two weeks to see any doctor is pretty ridiculous and I am now reconsidering staying in this clinic. I ended up having to go to Anglesea, which is a real shame.
This is the most greedy disgusting medical centre in Hamilton with their rude receptionist trying to give medical advice like professionals
Sometimes hard to make an appointment these days as Covid seems to have left a mark. Have been very well treated when walking in with an emergency. All GP' s I have seen have been good. Really love the relationship with my own GP. He even called me on his holiday when clearing emails and git me an appointment face to face the next day.
Absolutely love the Doctors at Hillcrest Medical centre, they’re helpful, kind and caring however trying to get an appointment seems like trying to get into some exclusive club as they never answer their phones!
Absolutely horrible.
Reception is rude and won't book you in. Worst medical practice in Hamilton hands down.
Been a member for 3 or 4 years now, was quite shocking for the price (customer service, booking an appointment etc) but as in the last few weeks it has improved significantly
