Kopu Station Hotel reviews
23A classic old school good value Kiwi pub. We stopped here for a quick pint before returning to Auckland. The plan being to avoid commuter traffic. An excellent plan all around.
Damed if I know why they charge more than other local places for a Handel or a carton of beer but they do.
We took my brother in law out for lunch, enjoyed the beer we had with our meals. Staff were great helpful and friendly.
Went for lunch but only had pizza and chips, they decided not to do any meals.so went to the junction hotel instead.
A bit disappointed. They where not doing there full menu for lunch. Second time in 2 weeks we have called.
Nice quite place for a cold beer on a hot day. Indian lady served us whilst never skipping a beat on the phone talking to an obvious relative.very rude being part of a 3way conversation.
Garden bar very dilapidated condition.picnic tables broken and untidy.
Not pleasant
Very underwhelming. Floor was dirty inside, tables and general area looks like it hasn’t had a clean in a good while.
Beer, Monteiths IPA, stale and been in the keg for some time.
Wedges with cheese and bacon - I don’t think they touched the deep fryer and chef Mike (the Microwave) cooked them instead.
No where near iconic.
Definitely come here if you want the most unenthusiastic service of your life. Blonde lady with tattoos looks like she would rather off herself than be at work serving people. Food is overpriced and of mediocre quality, now I know why it was empty when I walked in. Do yourself a favour by saving your money and head to somewhere in Thames instead!
Great spot to stop for lunch. We had the burgers, but there was a good range, pizzas, mains and salads
Holy your the best I been in so many pub as a long haul driver up and down new Zealand and you have been the best bar Tinder ever i seen you help the orderly up steers run around the bar to keep people happy make sure they have everything they need i well be back there 100% thank you for the grat service Holly
Great curries with poppadoms all made with your choice of spiciness staff are friendly and helpful. Busy on Sunday evening
Kopu Station is a typical kiwi watering hole with affordable pub grub and pints. Leave ya gumboots at the door, folks!:)
Very clean nice sitting in the sun lots to see lots of cool cars bikes going by nice patrons had a good chat to a good ol boy on a moto guzzi big bikes seem to use this as thier fuel up stop before hitting the coromandel 8 bucks for a corana cheap compared to ak eh
Very polite staff but the LONG wait for our lunch meal was frustrating and very off putting. There were not even many patrons there. The meal when it e eventually arrived was nice.
My steak was fantastic, and the fact the staff knew there was no more portions after i had ordered was good too as my partner wanted the same, but because of no more portions, ordered the stuffed chicken breast.which was not very good.no stuffing, ment to have creamcheese and spinich (none was visable through out the meal. The breast was on the small side, and the seasoning was like a tuscon (shake it on) so the meal was like a $15 meal and certainly shouldn't have been over $20. Maybe the cheif forgot something, or wasn't bothered that day, but the meal on my parnters behave was clearly not of the same caliber as my meal.
Not a great experience food wise. Dinner was served in pudding plates.thats steak, salad & chips in a pudding bowl. Was a shame really. Was unable to sit in restaurant area to eat as well. On the up.its got great beer!
The Kopu Station Hotel used to be on the "main drag" connecting Auckland and the surrounding area to the Coromandel district. Thanks to a new bridge it is now just off the main road.
It is a popular spot for motorcyclists to go to. You can grab a bite to eat, a drink or just a coffee.
There is a service station near by to top up with fuel, and a motel if you need somewhere to stay overnight.
Kopu Station hotel great service. The chips we ordered were nice and crisp though they could have done with more salt. Toilets are very basic. When I visit anywhere I really want clean toilets and that often means cleaning them more often. The outdoor area is now not as clean as it used to be and the nice comfortable chairs and glass tables are gone. I am feeling disappointed.
We could not fault the service Fantastic range of beers on tap The meals we would rate as pub grub Not for us
We were driving by a decided to take a look for an evening meal before continuing a drive to Whitianga. It looked like the restaurant was closed, so we started to head back to the car. A staff member spotted us and came out to ask if wanted food. We said yes and they come in, we'll make you some and even open the restaurant area as the main area had a live band playing (Great music too). The food was delicious and great value. Washed down with our choice of wine and beer:) Highly recommend popping in here on the way to the Coromandel.
