Absolutely excellent Cantonese cuisine, especially the dumplings! Exquisite flavours on all the dishes. Thoroughly recommend. Lovely friendly family restaurant.

Had takeaway here twice now, it's delicious and still feel good after eating it as it's not syrupy and oily like a lot of Asian takeaway that has you swearing you'll never get it again.

After visiting Blue Springs from Auckland, we enjoyed a great late lunch at Hong Kong Date. We ordered the half Peking duck, Honey chicken, bbq pork with roasted pork belly and tofu with mushrooms. They are all tasty. The service was so good. We will come again next time when we travel to Cambridge.

Not very much of a fan of spicy food but enjoyed the meal very much. Thanks for the delicious dinner!

So good we went twice in a row. Your reward for walking just 1 block away from Victoria street is the tastiest food in Cambridge. Our first time we wandered in right when it opened and weren’t quite sure what to expect. Tentatively ordered the fried rice with satay chicken and the curry mee and were blown away by both. Once we had a bite of our food we were both sitting there eating in silence because it was so good. Thankfully we had one more night in Cambridge so instead of trying a new restaurant, we went back again and had the nasi lemak and masak lemak. Yet again excellent flavor. I should mention I normally hate spicy food and the main courses were mild but served with a spicy side sauce that I thought would just taste too spicy but it was actually good and accentuated my dishes. Our server both nights was extremely knowledgeable, if you go visit be sure to ask for his recommendations.

Popped in for the first time and when the server knew it was our first time he went over the top to greet us and make us welcome, we took his advise and ordered his two recommendations plus some extras, $85 for a takeaway for 3 and plenty for a couple of lunches in the week. The food was amazing and tasty, the one for us was the chicken satay, Will visit again for sure, he also stressed how important it was to give him feedback, great business?

We just moved to Cambridge and this is one of the first places we've tried. I dont think we'll go anywhere else after this!

As a vegan couple it can be hard to get good vegan friendly options sometimes. They have vegan curry here and we both agree it was the best takeout we have had in years. Absolutely delicious. Ordered hot and it actually came proper hot

Another bonus was the super friendly staff with genuine smiles. Love it guys, keep up the amazing food and we will 1000% be back soon!

Cambridge's best kept secret!
I stumbled upon Lotus Malaysian recently and was very impressed. Great service, amazing food. You have to get the plain roti with curry sauce, so good & incredible value!

Thought we would try this place due to being highly rated and was generally disappointed. Satay skewers were greasy and likely deep fried. The satay sauce was the best part. Malaysian curry was tasty, but ordered mild, and was hotter than a medium dish. Kids couldn’t eat it. Finally the Masak Lenak (yellow curry) was so salty that it was inedible. Won’t be back.

We were in Cambridge for the weekend and were lucky enough to have Lotus for dinner. So glad we did, it was exceptional. Fantastic dishes, amazing flavour. Service was also 5 star!

Was very busy, poor guy was having to take orders, bus tables, make drinks and process payments. He's was rushed of his feet yet this did not affect the service we received. Lovely atmosphere, food was great. Will definitely be back

Lovely little place tucked away in one of the side streets. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The two starters (prawn fritters and Roti Canai with dhal) had were delicious. Best roti she has had according to my sister! The mains was just as delicious, well seasoned.

Wish I had discovered this place last night instead of the horrible Thai food I had.

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for clean food ie not oily.

Accidentally came across this gem in our travels. Amazing, authentic Malaysian cuisine, great service and lovely ambience. We will be back for sure when we are in Cambridge again.

Great service and good food. We happen to be there for the happy hour which is of great value -$25 for 5 coronas. Highlights were the roti canai and nasi lemak. Only downside was it took an hour for our mains to be served. We would come back but maybe not on a day when we are on the edge of starvation.
