Matamata Club

Attended a wedding here as a Groomsmen.
The staff were fantastic at helping us set up.
They were accommodating friendly and overall fantastic.
The buffet food was great!
Excellent venue.

Was dished up liver and bacon with blood running out of liver. One of our friends got camplobactor and was hospitalized.

We parked our caravan in the car park for a couple nights. Excellent place to visit. Very friendly staff and good service.

Just attended our 60sup Christmas lunch at the Matamata club today. It was amazing. Beautifully presented and the staff were lovely.

Visited the Matamata club for a large private dinner function. From what I did see it seemed to try and create a high quality vibrant place offering a great selection of food /bar services -TAB and other ammendities to their members and guests. It has certainly stood the test of time here in Matamata as a foundation club which was the next big level up from say the RSA or Working man's club of their day. Like all 'clubs' of their time it has adapted and matured to a more family friendly organization which I bieve it is. I had a great evening, very good food well priced drinks and good company.

Such a fun and welcoming place. Food and people awesome. Thanks Matamata Club we will be back. Sorry we can't be back for your night on the 17th June as we are babysitting.

We had a function for 100 people. The food and service were great. Highly recommend the club restaurant. Chef is very abliging. Manager of the club is also helpful.

Had a party of 12 last evening which was booked 10 days ago. The women who I spoke to did not have a nice manner at all (wrong person for the job).
Last night was very busy with group bookings one in our group got his entree and main before anybody else in group got anything. We finally got meals delivered to table half an hour apart most had finished theirs before the last meal came out. No apologies were given, no desert was offered and when we asked for coffee was told not doing coffee tonight.
On a positive note we couldn’t fault the food but the service was extremely poor.

As we were here for a family member’s passing the set up and club itself is nice and very spacious. Good to watch the team going at it with bowls and that everyone enjoyed lunch, best of all was the bar. Was a good day in the community otherwise.

Tony is doing an awesome job in the restaurant. Happy to eat there every week with our group of 10.

Went to funeral. Sadly much of the food was prefrozen i.e. Savories and apple shortcake were inedible as full of water. Sandwiches were fine. Savouries were a real disappointment. Been to many after funeral eats and never had partially frozen food before.

Lovely service from bar staff. Had to wait such a long time for our meal, would have been very close to an hour. Four of us in our group had fish, which was tasty, but very overpriced for what we got. Waitress didnt seem to know to much about what was on the menu.overall very disappointing.

The Matamata Club is a Combination of Clubs, Enjoyed a great Afternoon, Great Food, Great people and Atmosphere, they have Snooker Tables, Pool Tables, Gaming Room, And a Great Function Room, Dart Boards are available as part of this Jem.
