Mercury Bay's food, wine but particularly the service was amazing and it was such a perfect location to enjoy the sunshine and views.
I look forward to returning again one day

Host was welcoming and wait staff very friendly. Top class authentic pizza. Our pizza was amazing and the salad beautifully presented. Wine flight tasting was a good idea as you get to taste 4 different varieties. Nice to meet the chef and watch her work. Highly recommend.

I tried to leave no stars but not an option. The owner/manager man could not give a toss at this place. He couldn't give us the time of day (our friends have had the same experience). I've no idea what the food was like as we didn't get that far. Shame as we are trying our best to support local businesses in these trying times.
If you read other reviews here, this appears to be a reoccurring problem, Responses by the owners are to give defensive excuses not reasons for their intermittent appalling service instead of taking it on board and fixing it. Business must be booming if you can afford to see people walk out your door.

Wonderful experience at this winery! We arrived without a reservation expecting not to be able to be seated, especially when a large tour group arrived at the same time. But, the winemaker was on-site and took us under his wing, making sure we got a table and we were served super fast considering the large group at the same time. The wines were very good, and the food excellent. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the beautiful view since it was extremely rainy but the service, ambiance, food, and wines made up for it.

Food was great, however service lacked. We had a booking and arrived at our booked time to be told the table wasn’t available yet. Instead of offering us a solution (maybe a tasting or another table) they left us standing awkwardly waiting for 15 mins. Another couple turned up after us for the same booking time and we’re seated immediately so it was just bizzare that we were left waiting. We could also see empty tables.
We wouldn’t come back simply due to the service, they really didn’t seem to care or be very customer focused at all.

You have to stop here! If you don't have the time, make it! Delicious vine, amazing view AND THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD! I guess not even Italy has pizza this good. They are probably crying to have lost such an amazing chef to NZ. The pizza had the perfect crispness but was also soft enough and the tomato sauce was perfect as well. The mozzarella di buffalo was creamy and made the pizza heavenly good.
The people are so nice and the atmosphere is just cozy with amazing views. The perfect spot for having a perfect lunch. You're missing out if you don't visit this magnificent place.

Bookings! WE booked on the 17th Sep for 16 people. I did online, As online wouldn't except bookings over 10, I rang the guy and was told 16 was no problem and we will be set up under cover for 16. Last Sunday, we went for a drive (we live in Tauranga) to the vineyard, the lady talked about having a set menu and checked the computer booking and would send me a menu. Last night (Thurs) I sent an email saying I was still waiting for menus. This morning, 14th Oct I was rung and told they had double booked for a group of 40. The main reason was online bookings crossed over. The other excuses didnt make sense as I had booked it, spoken to you personally and also visited in person to confirm. Very disappointing for my 65th birthday with people coming from far away. I suggest you get the booking system upgraded!

We took a group of ladies to Mercury Bay Estate for a hens do. Amazing food, wine and service. Especially loved the authentic Italian pizzas and platters! Simon and Veronica were so lovely to deal with and accomodating to a big group with different dietary requirements. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.

We pitched up without a booking, the owner was kind enough to let us in. We had the wine pairing which was really good. We then ordered pizza which was absolutely brilliant. Will be returning as soon as I am in that area.

We called in on the off chance we could get a table and we did! Four of us throughly enjoyed our pizza’s (best we’ve had) and salad. The wine tasting rack for $20 we felt was very reasonable, a great way to sample some beautiful wines. Lovely scenery and great service.

A lovey little winery in Cooks Beach. The food was great and the tasting flight was good value. Definitely book ahead though as it is small and there's not many places to eat locally

The winery has a lovely outlook, there was a good buzz amongst customers, and the staff were friendly. We had a pizza and a flight of wines. I can recommend both the ‘Parma e Rucola, ’ and their Chardonnay.

Favourite restaurant, amazing food and the wine is divine. Remember to book, it is very popular.

A lovely wine tasting experience with an antipasto plate. Selecting wines for our wedding next door in a couple of weeks time!

Stop using COVID-19 as your excuse of a bad service, if you just rely on cheap labour and do not want pay anyone a higher rate then stop your dining in option. A shame what business owner can do is just much. Went there twice and get zero service what's so ever. Maybe mention your business as booking only when you do not accept anyone just showed up. If you would not bother to serve anyone drink then you may need to change your business to some fast food restaurant, which no one would complain your service. Most people spend time driving or walking from ferry about 40 mins to come here for nothing, one thing lovely is luckily this place deserve no money from my pocket.

Sadly the definition of “fully booked” in this place is half empty.
We were refused even a glass of wine, despite ample tables.
Cellar door? More like shut door.
More interested in serving mates than walk in customers.
Avoid and go to The Vessel

The food was amazing along with the kind staff and fast Service. The views were the cherry on top.
