New World Whangamata reviews
46ANYTHING you want, it'll be here guaranteed.popcorners? Yep.chicken nuggets? Yep.fried chicken? Yep.pizza? Yep.you name it, its there! Also i love how clean it is compared to other supermarkets. (this review is so cringe but its true)
New World Supermarket Whangamata has all you need when looking for something to cook when doing a stop over in Whangamata. Staff were very chatty and efficient.
Really really good deli foods (premade) tastes good too, value for money! Bakery is yummy!
Great customer service, expensive as hell and not a store for all people. Definitely a store for the rich.
Update: 2023
There's good specials here that are competitive on selected products.
June 18,2023 - They have milk alternatives on special often here which is awesome because it can get pricey if you consume more than 2 litres a week.
The shelves were very bare and I found the fruit and vege under par. The asian lady at the checkout was amazing though. What a treasure. So nice to be greeted and served by such a pleasant personable person.
Will never go there again. The security man letting people in is maskless and unvaccinated. Spoke to the owner about this he commented it was not mandatory for him to wear one! But it is for us? Bewildered.
Excellent range of products, clean and bright store, superb wine and beer range and the staff are top notch)
NIce shop with a good lay-out which is easy to navigate. Product variety is also good and the staff are mostly friendly and helpful.
Always great service and lovely staff but prices are very high particularly compared to Countdown Whitianga. They have a monopoly and are milking locals
A great small town store that is coping amazingly with the summer influx. We go from a permanent population of about 4000 people to over 100,000. The staff are amazing. Be kind.
What a nightmare cues down all isles to wait for the checkouts took an hour
Never again will I shop at 3pm in the afternoon. They needed more staff on checkouts no social distancing staff leaning over you to put stock on shelves absolutely ridiculous.
Great customer service, expensive as hell and not a store for all people. Definitely a store for the rich.
We live 45km from whangamata, so we don't go to new world there very often.after the latest experience, we never will again.they had an offer on olive oil on saturday, big yellow label below two Lupo 500 mil bottles, $5.95 each, said the labels.we bought two.on getting home, checked the receipt, found we had been charged $10.39 per bottle - that's over $20 per litre! We called the store, who knew straight away what had happened - the 'wrong' sale labels had been put below the Lupo bottles, so the deal was for something completely different (do these stores do this on purpose?). Their mistake, they said, so they would refund the difference, next time we go to the store. BUT, we said, we wont be there any time soon, please refund our bank card. At this - and this was the worst part - the customer service person laughed at us, and said 'you don't seriously expect us to make a refund over the phone? ' Actually, a) we do expect that and b) we don't expect to be laughed at for their mistake. Lesson to selves - always check receipt in store. And also, never go to New World Whangamata again.
Our only supermarket in Whangamata The staff do a great job here especially at holiday times when they are so busy with holidaymakers.
This is a well stocked
Super market with an exellent Deli
The staff are friendly and
Very efficient
Has everything a small town could want. Also handles a holiday population of 80 000 plus. Staff are superb
Check out staff are always friendly and happy to banter which is a good look given that they have to tolerate impatient customers. And the young staff engage well with older people. Well done
So much nicer than having to grocery shop in Covid Level 2 Whangamata than in Covid Level 3 Auckland
As a supermarket they have a good range of fresh, reasonably price goods. Their staff are helpful and friendly and really supported Whangamata during the lockdown. They support community events.
Overwhelming?
Need bigger Isles, more trolleys.
I understand that it is seasonal but happens year in and year out.
Widen the Isles please
