We recommend this place. The food was delicious. We had the sirloin and market fish. Dish sizes were just right, steak cooked to perfection, and the fish was melt in your mouth. The place was fully booked but still found a seat for us, and the staff were polite and responsive.

Really disappointing experience after good reviews and a recommendation. We ordered entrees and mains and they were all poor. My medium steak arrived blue and after recooking was rare at one end and well done at the other, with juices running on the plate from a lack of resting time. Vegetables were not fresh (I'm guessing a frozen mix), fried were soggy and my husband's camembert entree was undercooked. Staff were friendly and I understand that the usual chef wasn't available, but we could have had an amazing meal at the Turangi Lodge for the same price, or chosen somewhere much cheaper where we would have expected this quality of food.

My son and I dined in tonight and were pleasantly surprised staff were super friendly and attentive, food was great and portions were a great size

We were delighted with our dinner here. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the food was Divine. Highly recommend the Surf and Turf, had to enlist my husband to help me do justice to it.
One of those meals where you want to lick the plate. So yummy.
I suggest a 10km hike beforehand because the meals are a decent size. Nice wines to go with. Will remember this place and recommend it to anyone in the area.

I had a meal with my mate before going to Mt Tongariro on the following day. The best decision to dine out this place. We had a grilled fish with salads. The quality of the food did surprise me and it pushed my expectations of NZ food in general. If you are around the area, this one is worth checking out!

We had a disappointing experience. Only one of our four diners was happy with their dish. Staff tried but amateurish.

Went here with my family during the holidays we ordered a couple steaks which we all requested medium rare when we got our food all our steaks were all cooked to different tempretures.the servers were nice but were very un responsive and were barley present around the restraunt.

I want to begin with giving the in site manager a huge deserved credit. Chenara Cameron. Absolute rock star this woman. We got there at 7pm with a booking for 2. She explained they were very ahirt staffed and there was a wait on food, drinks and serving. We were ok with that. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the dinner was great and so was dessert. Thankyou so much Chenara you are a legend doing 3 jobs at once. Highly recommended and we will be back. Thankyou to the entire team that were there tonight, great job

My family and I travelled to Taupo for a couple days from Auckland and we visited the restaurant on Tuesday 28th December. We discovered your restaurant online and based on the reviews, we assumed the food would be spectacular. However, my cousin ordered a medium rare steak but it was cooked well done. But my father's medium rare steak was fine, demonstrating inconsistency. My mother and I ordered the pork chop which was indeed very dry, as if it was frozen. We also found a fish scale on one of our pork chops which was concerning. The mash potatoes that came along with it had a very strange texture. Although the waitresses were friendly, it was very hard to get their attention when we wanted to order because they were mostly in the kitchen or somewhere else. Overall, we would not visit again, it was a very dissapointing experience.

The pork chop is to die for! Well seasoned and not too thick. And the service is exceptional. Lovely atmosphere, it seem like everyone actually likes working here!

Incredible service, food was very fast, delicious and cooked perfectly.
Environment was very ambient. Enjoyed every minute of it, wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Great service, we ordered the scotch fillet and the orange roughy fish. Wouldn't say the portion size was as big as the others said in their review but still a good size.

The food here is amazing. They give such a generous amount of food too. We are here for 2 nights in a row while we were on holiday there. Everyone there was so nice too. I would definitely suggest for you to go there.
