Very nice food, reasonable prices, good drinks.the electronic menues without any kind of personal contact or suggestions are sucking the romance out of it.

My wife and I had dinner on a Saturday night and we loved it. The food was delicious, the service was very quick and the waiting staff were very attentive. We plan to come back

Always enjoy dining out at the Pepper Tree in Coromandel. The great food and service along with the friendly helpful staff makes this one of the best, if not the best place to eat out on the peninsula.

My friends and I asked for a table for lunch, the maître d said she was going to have a look for a table so we waited at the door. When she came back she was unclear whether we should follow so we stayed at the door, then she rudely gestured at a table and said to another staff “f**king r****ds”. We turned and left. Very unwelcoming, very disappointing.

Establishment operates a self service tablet for ordering and payment. They warn not to order multiple courses at the same time. Food was tasty but there was not strength of flavour in the sauce. Might cater for the Mrs Average but personal preference would be for a more robust flavour. Nicely presented though. The Banoffee was fabulous.

Great service, excellent eggs Benedict. Will definitely go back next time I am passing through.

Celebrated a special birthday with 12 special friends. We were all very happy with our entrees and dinners. Service was great as well. Thanks so much for having us all!

Disappointing. Staff are dishonest about the busyness of the restaurant and you are made to order on digital devices. My ribs were tough, dry and swimming in way too much BBQ sauce, which also drowned the chips underneath. Overpriced. Not recommended.

We visited Coromandel last week. This restaurant was the most impressive. They have very fresh oysters and we also love the pasta. Highly recommended!

Hostess was extremely rude to us because we wanted to dine without a reservation. Restaurant was empty btw.

My wife and I arrived a few minutes before dinner time and were met with such disdain so uncharacteristic of this country that we didn’t even consider waiting at the bar or one of the more than 30 empty tables. The staff member that “greeted” us just didn’t care. She must be a member of the family that owns the place. Take your business elsewhere.

Looked nice after a day or travelling In the motorhome only to be told not yet serving food but waitresses literally walking past with food orders. Then another family turned to be told they were full and there was another 20 tables available. Do not recommend

Good place for dinner, seems like the only place for dinner as we couldn't find any other places as it is a small town. Food was nice, just need a bit of an upgrade one the menu not much options and the fact that it was two pieces of paper on a clipboard.but otherwise friendly staff

Soggy chips drowning in rib sauce. The beef tasted nice but had about 10 microwaved tomatoes with it? Cheese cake that wasn't even a cheese cake but whipped cream and a panecotta that was just rubber.
The staff were lovely, need a new chef.

Lovely outdoor seating in the centre of Coromandel. I had GF pasta with smoked chicken and pesto which would have been delicious if not loaded with onion! Friendly service.

Great calamari, tender and crispy, the mussels were a little chewy, but the white wine and cream sauce delicious! Chowder was unfortunately a little disappointment as it tasted more like a tickened potato and veg soup with a few mussels. Good soup for a rainy day but wouldn't call it rich and creamy chowder for sure! Service was friendly and attentive! Overall a good experience. Would give 3,5 *

Food was divine compliments to the chef my family throughly enjoyed their dinner
although the service was let down with 1 waitress who is only there to get paid her attitude is appalling definitely not the right person you would want welcoming nor serving guest but still a well deserved 5 stars for the chef and the other 2 waitresses we had.

Let me start by saying the food is 5 star, I’m hoping the 1 will get the owners attention to address the terrible service that has let the chefs down! Our order and drinks arrived promptly and the food was delicious. After our main was served we were promptly forgotten. There were plenty of wait staff but none came to check on us or even offer another drink which became empty half way through the mains. We had to wave down a waitress after 10 mins of finishing our meals to clear our empty plates. In the meantime we watched as a table of 4 left after being seated and no one came to serve them. Again after 15 mins after our table had been cleared we had to wave down another waitress to ask for the dessert menu. The unimpressed and indignant attitude of the waitress was made known as she trotted off to get the menu. When she came back, she placed the menus down and promptly went to walk away but I called her back as to avoid another wait time! We placed our order and after 40 minutes of waiting, decided it was time to leave. Not one person came to us in that time to check on us, they were too busy packing up! As a Service Manager myself, I found this lack of care, I attention and management of the patrons absolutely awful and a real disservice to the quality of the restaurant. Every interaction counts and I am sure there are likeminded people out there that would be grateful to have a job at a quality restaurant. Sadly those on the frontline currently should not be there.
