Pipers Cafe & Catering

Enjoyed a quiet mid-week lunch here. Cabinet options or Lunch menu options incl.nachos, tacos, dumplings, salads, a variety of burgers to choose from, etc. Two outdoor dining areas sit in. Beers on tap, or lots of locals with their take-away coffees. We enjoyed chicken burger and the pork burger. Decent size burgers. Delicious tap beer. Staff were friendly. Would recommend dining here. (They also had a takeaway menu too)

The carrot cake here is out of this world good. Amazing texture, incredible icing. A must try when in Matarangi

Really good breakfast, excellent coffee and great vibe with cool music playing. Beautifully presented meals, they do half portions for kids. Waffles were well enjoyed!

Always a smile as you enter, have never been let down with quality, presentation, taste, if you want a nice little get away have a relaxing time then spend the rest of the day at the beach then you have found the right place.

Very nice cafe for breakfast. Good coffee and delicious pies. The eggs also looked great. Worth a little detour on the way around the coromandle.

First time coming and it was great! Lovely staff and building, very welcoming and friendly. The food was fantastic, tasted absolutely amazing and the presentation was so pretty! My coffee was also great which was a nice surprise: ] Only thing I'd say is maybe play a bit calmer music to fit the vibe of the place but other than that it's perfect!

Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Staff were very kind too. Only criticism is that the music was a bit too loud and up-beat.

Good value for money and fast service. Coffee was lovely - would recommend coming here if you are after fish & chip shop type food. As a FYI - the owners have changed within the last few months.

The best home made baked goods I've had at a cafe - biggest, yummiest afghans! Best coffee. Tasty pizzas, really good breakfast with quality ingredients. Matarangi is lucky to have this place:)

Lovely cafe. Had the pleasure of experiencing a perfectly cooked Benedict from here. Lovely touch with having the sauce in shells. Would come back regularly if I was a local.

Absolutely amazing food - coffee was perfect, the full pastry on the pies are just the perfect addition. Would definitely recommend the lamb shank pie

Staff was a bit rude.food was average.don’t get their smoothies, just tastes like milk with a little fruit flavouring

Yum yum yum. Girl behind the counter was extremely helpful and accomodating. I ordered the fish of the day with fries. BEST I’VE HAD in a long time, cooked to perfection.

Really loved going to Pipers everyday during our visit to Matarangi. The food & coffee was amazing! I also loved the bar, there was live music there one night and we all enjoyed sitting outside having a drink, it’s a great set up. Highly recommend!

The owner literally yelled at me for a miscommunication the staff conveyed to me, extremely unprofessional and so rude.

Really good coffee! Coming from Wellington this coffee was on par with coffee from the capital.
