Profs @ Woodlands Cafe reviews
54Very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. Lots of toys/games in large grounds for kids to play. Highly recommend
Came to Woodlands for a Christmas work lunch (party of 18). I currently have some somewhat frustrating dietary requirements but they were very accommodating in providing me with food that was safe for me to eat. Bonus was that everything was really tasty rather than it feeling like something was thrown together as an afterthought, which I have experienced in other places.
The cafe was very busy with both routine patrons and other large groups like mine and I think the staff handled things quite well. I'm not sure if any of them got time to catch their breath because there was plenty going on, so I commend them for that.
As far as the setting goes, Woodlands is as lovely as ever. The place always feels like a relief from town and traffic and supermarkets and malls. You can just go there and be, even when it is busy. Given the number of people there, it wasn't especially loud which is a benefit of al fresco dining, I suppose. The gardens are lovely and the grounds are perfectly kept. Definitely recommend.
Charming 'historic cricket pavilion' cafe - - - cricket oval setting - - - Comprehensive well balanced menu - - - Beautifully presented cabinet food (decorated with flowers and greenery) - - - Delicious nicely styled cuisine - - - Warm welcoming friendly staff - - - Enclosed terraced cafe seating overlooking the lawn oval (additional outdoor patio tables if desired) - - - bonus of historic garden and historic homestead as part of the estate within which cafe is located.
A beautifully bucolic countryside experience - well worth a visit!
Cheers
Great Cafe with good food and coffee. And even better when a cricket game is taking place. And a lovely walk through the gardens afterwards.
Great place for a walk around, the garden and house are well worth looking around $3 to look in the house well worth the money.
Terrible service. Waited 45mins then was told that that they had no chicken burgers or panini's after other people had been serviced. Would never come again. New owners are useless
This is an idyllic setting for the beautiful woodlands grove cafe & the food is awesome. So good we are coming back with the American Muscle Group on the 4th of March for Lunch, looking forward to a great time! See you again soon?
The coffee was great and we stayed longer and had lunch, which was delicious! Staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome.
This place has gone down hill. Under new management. Poor service, long wait times and half the menu not available.
We have been going to Woodlands for many.
After 1.5 hours told the meals that we ordered was until available
We paid for the 1 drink and left.
Will never go there Again until It changes hand again.
Met a group of Ladies there for lunch - everything was Lovely except the noise generated in that tented eating area, probably due to the perspex covers being down - the place was full so was incredibly noisy but yummy food and good company made up for it
Very disappointed. Dont go. New owners. Have been going to Woodlands for years. Family birthday occasion. Booked 2 weeks ahead. After an hour and a half some still had no food then told they had run out of what was ordered and we have to choose something else. People after us ate and we didnt. Disorganised. Staff lovely but overwhelmed as too many people and not enough staff. Offered food and drinks by staff that wasnt ours. Not given any priority for a special occasion. Overbooked and overpriced and understaffed. After an hour and half we left. Birthday girl left with no food. Sad experience.
We had a casual lunch for our wedding here with 30 people back in 2020 after our original big wedding was cancelled with the first lockdown. The staff were so great. I was gutted about our original wedding getting cancelled, but the lunch was so easy to organize and was just so good that I'm so glad it turned out this way. The cool thing is that we can come back for every anniversary too:)
A truly beautiful spot for a meal or snack. Very family friendly. There are toys for kids to play with and a large expanse of lawn to play in. The food was great and served more quickly than we expected. Staff followed up to see if everything was fine.
Worth the detour coming from Auckland to Rotorua. Food is awesome, outdoor place is gorgeous. Service is good too.
Very nice café. Lots of delicacies in the cabinet, I had trouble choosing.
Went there on a Thursday morning and enjoyed a quiet time sipping on a nice latte. Will be back
Excellent coffee and amazing sweet French toast and great sidewinder fries Would definitely recommend. Staff are great too
Always have good breakfast or lunch here. Plus is we can take both our dogs for a good wakl afterwards. Real nice. <3
Didn't go to café but had a lovely wander through the Woodlands Historic Homestead and grounds. Really lovely place, well worth a visit.
We had a breakfast there this Saturday 25/6/2022. They catered for all of us we all had different tastes and the menu was amazing. The service was beyond what you could imagine. Our youngest grandsons enjoyed the open space to play in. Fabulous place to go to.
Lovely food. Was told they have Gluten free, but nothing in the cabinet on Saturday. A bit disappointed
