Shamiana reviews
16I ate here not long ago and got food poisoning from the butter chicken. Knocked me out for about a week. Would definitely NOT recommend.
Had this from Shamiana Chartwell, the best chilli chicken I had ever. Will definitely come back.
A wonderful place to fulfill all your cravings for authentic INDIAN food. Customer service is top class and always welcoming which is very rare in NZ. Keep it up and continue doing the awesome work guys! (Vivek, Gaurav, Vijay Rana, Sailesh & the team @Chartwell). Best wishes for you All.
Even 1 star is too much for this place. The worst staffs ever. $13.50 meal with 4 pieces of small chicken chunks in Chicken Korma. Legend.
Shamiana is a great place to get your Indian takeaways. I like to try the new dishes and have found Chicken Sagwala. Now I can't order anything else - love it. Vegetarian dishes are favorites too with Mushroom Mutter and Bombay Aloo being our go-to veg dishes. Overall, Shamiana at Chartwell Food Court creates delicious Indian meals and gives generous portions. Our family is very happy with the quality of the meals. The Staff are nice people and friendly. I gave four stars, losing a star because on our last visit the naan bread was tough and a bit dry - not what we usually get here as the naan has always been fresh. I have no hesitation recommending Shamiana and we will continue buying our Indian takeaway here.
Very disappointed, wouldn't waste my money on it again. Tikka masala very sweet but also kinda flavorless, Nan bread cold and dry
Best take away and dine in experience at Chartwell Mall. Great food at great prices. More than value for money. Enjoy the experience at Shamiana Chartwell and you will never look back.
One of the best Indian food restaurant's in Chartwell Mall, Hamilton that I have been to lately. Customer service was outstanding, Food was Amazing and tasty, tender juicy chicken, flavors were there, good Ambience. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would surely recommend their Garlic naan, Butter Chicken, Lamb curry, Aloo Paratha and Chicken Tikka. Great value for money too
Best butter chicken in town. My children favorite dish. I coming to Shamiana more than 5 years.
I go here regularly. The curry is excellent!
& the service excellent, there is never a long wait. The staff are always friendly & once they know you. Your favorite curry will be served before you even ask!
These guys are great! Go try them a couple of times. & tell them Shaun the Yorkshire bloke sent you
I have been coming here over 5 years now and never been disappointed, and alway give alot, thank you for the great food guys
Just got butter chicken at chartwell. Seem to get half the amount of butter chicken but twice as much rice.for the same price. Who hold these guys accountable.
Ordered late in the day - Curry was ok, chicken tasted old, naan was the worst I've had. The naan have been kept warm for hours, it was tough and tasted horrible. Unfortunate.
I ordered Butter Chicken - HOT with Garlic & Cheese Naan. The Butter Chicken was bland with not even a hint of spice and I could not detect any garlic or cheese in the Naan. The entire meal was supplied luke warm. Definitely the worst Indian meal I've ever experienced
I crave for Indian food from time to time and if I don't feel like spending too much and get something relatively light, I go with samosa. $3 perfect on my budget to try something light. Very authentic Indian and not spicy at all so people who don't eat spicy can try it too. It was hot and crispy.
The staff was very good. I am happy I was served with a smile. I love Nepal and the girl who served me was from Nepal she was kind and polite and asked me to visit Nepal. I'm very happy with my experience and I would visit again for sure.
I was aware that the quality wouldn't be as good as a traditional restaurant because its precooked and kept warm in a display thing so as a customer I understand that it's not going to be excellent quality curry, this is also my rationale for the 2 star review. What stood out the worst for me was the garlic naan. The naan was like cardboard. I think the price is unreasonable vs the quality. For $1.20 less, I can get amazing Indian a few kms away so this place is charging a lot for its quality of food by comparison of actual good Indian food restaurants.
