The Bakehouse Cafe reviews
23It may be a road-side cafe at the side of the road but the sandwiches here are amazing. Freshly made each day. Fresh ingredients on tasty bread. We liked them so much we went back the next morning for more.
Best Steak and cheese pie I have ever had the pastry was beautiful melt in your mouth.
Friendly staff extremely clean always packed
Always good food and accommodating staff. Iced coffe milkshake was amazing. Lovely bathrooms for road trip stop ins too!
My steak and creamy mushroom pie was fantastic, the coffee is also very nice. The did have cheese in it which I didn't expect which made it even better. Great stop.
I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever when I stopped at this place on my way south and I really amazed. Best flatwhite I’ve had in months! These guys clearly know how to make a good coffee. Another great thing was that large actually means LARGE unlike most of the other places.
Great place to stop if you've forgotten to have breakfast or ill prepared for lunch. Yum food which seems fresh and great service
Well, honestly we didn’t have any choice. Not many places to stop for lunch along the way. Was good enough but closed at 5pm on the way back.
Best bakery in NZ in my opinion, definitely the best pies and their pork belly is delicious
First time here and the first thing I was impressed by was the Toilets, it was so spotless and clean.
It is how a public toilet should be.
Food was great and fresh, no complaints from me.
Overall good experience.
If your passing through stop, you wont regret it. Top Notch! Way better than most other bake houses.beautiful pepper steak pies which are Full and heavy.not like others filled with Gel!
Awesome food and great selection. Definitely worth the stop. Ate my lunch at tables outside. There is no tables inside. Service was good. Will stop again for sure.
Such a great spot to stop for a feed between Rotorua and Taupō. The variety of food is off the charts and always fresh and top quality
I bought a salad which is a wild and risky call from a roadside bakehouse.but it was super nice, basic, yummy and well priced. It was fresher than some I've had in "nice" cafes and am looking forward to my next one
Wow, what a great wee place to stop at. Ample parking, toilets & a bakehouse - absolutely delicious pies! We stopped here on our way to Papamoa and also on the way back. Lots of choice of food, from sandwiches & cakes to pies and hot chicken or chips & kebabs. Brilliant, good service and not out of the way at all. Perfect stop - thank you
Great place to stop for drinks or meals or takeaways. Something for everyone. Lots of parking for big vehicles. Toilets handy. Great lovely cooked food. Kiwi breakfast lovely and all prices are very reasonable. They do all their own prep and baking so fresh as! Well worth a stop.
One of the best roadside bakeries there is. Ideal when on a distance trip. Park at the door or roadside, buy your goodies, eat there or take it with you. Always very helpful. Well done.
Umm. This place is sensational. We stopped by accident on our holiday to use the amenities and made a purchase out of courtesy. A mere sandwich and donut but they were honestly the best we’ve ever eaten. Anyway, long story short we came back the next day for breakfast, an hour out of our planned route, and it was worth every second.
10/10
Delicious and fresh bacon quiche and the chocolate caramel brownie was super good. Plenty of seats and parking available
First time here. We were a motorcycle group of twenty-one, and they handled us easily, along with lots of locals at the same time. Food is nice and fresh, I had a big corned beef and salad sandwich.espresso coffee was very nice.
