The Bakehouse Cafe reviews
47Speaking of unfriendly female shop assistants. As soon as we finished taking our order, we shut ourselves up in the kitchen without saying a word and we were at a loss as to whether we should wait like idiots in front of the register or sit down at a table. I didn't even have time to ask for the receipt. I will never use it again.
Wow. The best smoked fish pie I've had in years. Amazing flaky pastry. With their gold pie awards no doubt all the pies are great
Owners are lovely loyal hard working family that always provides Thames with affordable fresh Kai on the daily. Nga Mihi
Overcharging people the elderly lady served me and added too much didn’t give me the correct amount over charged me $20! And when I asked about it they gave me $5! What a rip off food was ok but we don’t understand how they got a gold award bacon looked off
Very friendly, and are like family, always smiling, have a big heart. And caring people xxxx
We ordered two fluffies for our kids but it wasn't until they were half way finished that we realised that they were two hot chocolates.some parents have specific reasons for ordering specific types of drink so please take care to get it right. I had to wait for a very long time for my tea and was just loosing my patience when the staff/owner strolled up to ask 'are you waiting for anything else' to which I reminded you of my tea. Appreciate that you then had it ready for me in less than 5 minutes.
Was looking for a place in Thames for a lunch, got a parking spot just outside and saw lots of people inside and decided to try out, very glad that we had lunch here, 3 big sandwiches and 1 pottle of wedges costed only 22: 50 and was amazingly tasty, can’t believe they can deliver that quality at that price in 2023. Will definitely visit again.
Guy serving on the counter was talking on the phone while serving us then he forgot to make our smoothies.
Always stop here. Great variety. Nice friendly atmosphere and hosts are lovely. Access is easy with hand rail if needed.
Got the chance to visit Thames on our way to Coromandel and by chance tried Bakehouse Café's winning gold award pie!
Place is so clean and organise.i love their iced coffee.gutted not be able to enjoy iced coffee regularly as i live in Auckland.
Eggs Benedict are delish! My go-to food place always and the staff are very welcoming awesome place 5 stars from me
Very good selection of food and cold drinks. Staff were very welcoming. Food was delicious and happy to visit again next time I'm in Thames
This is my favourite cafe in Thames Township. A favoured spot by the locals where food is served to perfection. I recommend the jam and cream pancakes at $3.00 each are my favourite treat. Customer service is super friendly and you will never be disappointed with your ordered meal. Upstairs balcony area is a lovely touch of Thames history ambiance, and with table service you'll be impressed. Well done team your 100% perfect! See you soon. Car parking available on mainstreer.
Older staff lady stood to stare at what I was picking from the warmer. She didn't help at all either when I asked for something - so I knew why she was standing there
Racially profiling people shouldn't be happening, esp from someone like her. I will not be returning here
Friendly customers but i found a brown long HAIR in my sandwich & my hair is black. Owner refused to give my money back.
Hot Food (chips) was luke warm and greasey, toasted sandwich wrapped in gladwrap was soggy and luke warm. Doubt will be returning to this place.
You get a great coffee here. Every time the quality is the same as the previous. Great temperature, size and flavour
Hot chips but had no salt on them. Preciously were already salted so I didn't add any this visit. Will check next time!
Don't go there expecting takeaway roast (after asking if the had enothe to do two twenty dollar meals) was told yes. Half full with two or three peas. What a joke. Told the woman I would give bad feed back and she shouted us out of shop saying she didn't care. Recommend absolutely nothing ion this place.
Very great apple donuts, pies and alot of other stuff to choose from. It's a bit tatty upstairs but overall, staff are great and over all great place.
