The General Store Waitomo

It is the only thing you have there in the town to buy something very basic, the food was bad, it is expensive and the service much to be desired. There are very few things to buy. There is nothing else in town so if you go there stop at a supermarket in another nearby town.

Stopped in for coffee and a pie with family. Food average, prices are waaay above average. $9 for an average tasting pie. Not worth stopping in unless you’re desperate.

We were entrants in the NSRA nationals this Labour weekend. Over 100 people staying at the chalets and lodge, having 3 breakfasts plus other meals. Fantastic people who made us all very welcome. You rock.

The coffee is horrible. Worst Latte I’ve ever purchased. I could do better with a YouTube video. Also there are no prices on any of the so called “supplies” so you get ambushed with exorbitant prices when you’re at check out.

Called in to The General Store Waitomo for breakfast. Service was excellent, kai scrumptious, kāwhe good, smoothie perfect.

What a GR8 place to have in Waitomo and right across the road from Waitomo Top10 Holiday Park.

The food and service here were excellent! The sweet chili chicken wrap was amazing as was the burger! They also have great ice cream and drinks as well. The service was also top notch! What a fabulous place; we are so happy we stopped.
I would highly recommend a visit!

Great cafe for breakfast and lunch great selection on display plus more on menu. Very near to Waitomo Caves

A part from being told the milk for our tea costs extra (was resolved) the food was good. Shamed the girl who delivered our food lacked hospitality as doesn’t cost much to serve with a smile and politeness,

Fun store offering good food and comfortable seating. Visited for lunch between doing the Zipline and the Cave tour.

Nice little store coffee was ok, and the cheese scone was great. It was a great little place to stop for refreshments on the way to visit the Waitomo caves.

We stopped in here for a coffee before going on a cafe tour, and we really enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and the coffees were great. There is also a casual little sitting area.

There were a Lot of guests and the Staff was still nice and helpfull.
Quality of Food and Drinks should have Been better though.

Food was ok, not many choices if you go when everything else is closed but its is adequate. The staff was friendly but i got the feeling they are burned out from dealing with tourist.

Fantastic and friendly little cafe located just near our hotel! There were plenty of choices on the menu for breakfast and their lattes can't be beat! The staff member behind the counter was friendly and courteous, so we felt very welcome at all times. Even when it got busy, we got A+ service!

We ended up having a brisket burger and chips, which was hot, super delicious, and full of flavour! Sitting inside provided us with warmth from the outside cold, and they even had power outlets available, so that we could check emails on our laptops.

If we ever go to that region in the future, I would definitely visit the general store again. Keep up the great work!

A bot over price, believe is the area. Small portions. Arrived around 12noon they said we could pick just items from breakfast menu. Not too sure why we could have lunch from lunch, but that cafe was the only one open so no choice left then order breakfast for lunch. Menu times is very confusing.

We stopped in for a few burgers and some merch.
Food was lovely, couldn't be better and it didn't cost an arm & leg.
The little merch section was quite diverse and had some very colourful knick knacks.
Nice little spot off from the road with some really great seating and parking.
