The Refinery reviews
64Great food and service, a little on the pricey side, a bit worrying was seeing flys crawling over uncovered food on top of cabinet
The Refinery has a nice vibe to it and food is great however coffee sizes are on the extremely small size. Their large is a regular size everywhere else, regular is a small and small is almost fluffy size. For this reason we wouldn't return. Coffee is one of the main reasons we go to cafes so expect a bit more value for our money.
Fantastic! Dog friendly, great food and excellent service.
Would definitely recommend
Hi. Thank you. I have visited your Cafe a few times and never been disappointed. Each time I have tried something different to eat. From a snack to a meal. Love love your blends of coffee. It's just an amazing place to come and dine in. Well done. I strongly recommend your Cafe to all.
Coffee, food and service fantastic. Funky decor and ambience. I'm a fan.
Edit.second visit. This place is the perfect cafe. Everything we ate both times was delicious.quiche was fantastic. Cakes were great. The bacon n egg brioche roll is the best I've ever had. Love this cafe.
Great cafe for the ambience, but pretty disappointed in the portion size of my bolognaise on (soggy) toast. $20+ and still hungry. Oh well.
Food was really well presented, generously portioned and tastes fantastic. Staff are very friendly too, and the place has an interesting history. Oh - and dog friendly too!
This is always a must stop for us on the way to Auckland. Great coffee, fabulous staff, delicious food and funky atmosphere.
A Hidden Treasure
Well worth every moment, a fresh and relaxing atmosphere, with large and fairly priced portions.
We will be visiting again next time in town.
Pretty building with a creaper growing over the front. It was busy at the outdoor tables so we sat indoors. The atmosphere was great with vinyl records playing in the background. Great choices in food with cabinet and menu options. Lovely coffee which arrived promptly. Food also came quickly and was very well presented and very tasty. Planning a return trip in November.
An amazing spot - Great food, friendly staff, interesting history and a really cool eclectic vibe. Would absolutely recommend!
Great service yummy food but only thing was we checked the breakfastmenu out on there website and got there and that option online was what was being served but still happy with what we got
Great place with nice staff and good coffee!
(The lemon and orange cake was delicious! And dairy/gluten free!)
Phenomenal everything. Service, food, atmosphere, coffee.
We are planning a trip down from Auckland just to enjoy a meal at The Refinery. Thanks team.
Read a review in a magazine. Went there for lunch with friends, no menu, only small limited selection in cabinet where review suggested more than that, surly staff. Won't be going back.
Excellent service, great music, and all 6 of us were very happy with our food and coffees. We’ll be back for sure.
Definitely the best café in Paeroa.
The lady making the coffees and teas made me want to find the quickest stage coach out of town when approached about no tea bag with my tea and the way she dumped it on the bench beside me. After all that the scone was nice.even though I had lost my appetite.
Thanks.
I ordered the Low Carb bowl with corned beef. The roast veg were fine but the corned beef was awful. The beef was the toughest I have ever been served, cut along the grain and full of gristle. The ginger crunch was nice though.
Waited for an hr for a doughnut to see it was the last one, to be told it was sold to some other wont be back
Arrived at 1.30pm Friday afternoon to be told the kitchen was closed and little cabinet food left.
We went to another Cafe whose kitchen was still open and enjoyed a lovely lunch.
For a through town to the Coromandel and being a Friday when many are traveling to their holiday homes we find this amazing.
