The Sugar Bowl Cafe reviews
75 Come to Sugar Bowl fairly regularly, wonderful staff and very tasty menu with coffees!
Gotta pick your timing cos parking can be taken up quick, they're a busy Cafe but well worth the trip
I've only been to this place a couple of times but the coffee, food and atmosphere has been great in both instances. I can recommend the French toast. We had a big group and service was top notch considering the difficulties with a group of that size. Best to book ahead if you do have a big group though as it is quite popular.
The best cafe and dining experience I have in my trip in New Zealand. Food is delicious and fulfilling and the service is pretty generous and considerate. Highly recommend!
The food was awesome fast and tastie.
The service I couldn't help but feel like I wasn't welcome there. It wasn't inviting and deffintly didn't feel friendly.
Let it down for me.
The food was great and coffee real good.
I really wanted to try this Cafe heard so many good things about the food. Presentation was really nice looked appealing to the eyes but lacking so much flavour. Ordered eggs bene with salmon. Got to the table & I couldn't wait to eat. Was really underwhelmed with barely any seasoning. Also ordered the French toast. Presentation wise amazing. Taste was 2/10. Hubby ordered steak sandwich & he said it was pretty good. Overall I probably wouldn't go back.
This week i enjoyed my last meal at Sugar Bowl cafe for the next little while.
And.it was incredible as always.
Keto eggs benny! Far out!
As i savoured my perfectly balanced mocha,
I watched the staff engaging with their customers with kindness and aroha.
Going to miss you guys.
See you on the other side of the traffic light.
Was not impressed with coffee or my lunch, had to ask for the table we sat at to be cleaned (never cleaned down after last customer. Was disappointed as this place was recommend.
Delicious! Loved getting the eggs on toast with bacon, plus hollandaise. Eggs seemed fresh, sundried tomato paste was tasty and a good cappuccino. Staff were very friendly and accommodating too.
Food was absolutely amazing can see why there is always so many people in. Got myself the mushroom dish and added an egg on the side. Highly recommend this place visit if you can.
Its always difficult to rate a place when you made the choice. Chips and tea great. Churro scone not such a good choice.for me
Good friendly service, which cater for Meat, vegetarian And kids menu's, The food will not disappoint. You have a full Range of barista coffee To choose from also a choice of tea and donuts
Didn't just have a nice breakfast here, served by friendly staff but enjoyed the best flat white I've ever had. Just perfection, and lingered on the palate for the next half an hour.
Bloody amazing! My sister from Auckland loooves the chicken croffles and will now only ever have breakfast at Sugar Bowl (Maeroa). I had made a reservation for 18 people for Mother's Day and the staff were awesome. Very accommodating, happy, on time and the food was deeelicious. Thanks team.
Beautiful food and selection to choose from, service is very good, location and setting nice. Worth the trip across from Mount Maunganui to Hamilton for family breakfast.
Had a delicious savoury scone and muffin last week - excellent coffee and just good old fashioned great service - keep up the good work.
The customer service was good, the food was succulent and delicious and the coffee was burnt, unfortunately. I've been making coffee for 9 years and was greatly disappointed with their coffee set-up and procedures: they obviously don't know how to make coffee well. There were happy faces and good ambience but the espresso was sour and burnt — for a popular café it was disappointing.
I'd highly recommend you pay a visit, for the welcoming environment and great food but I'd suggest add a sugar or two to your coffee because it's likely going to be burnt.
Great food, stunning coffee and a friendly team running the place, what more could you want! (Maybe you'll want to keep the secret to yourself!). Tucked away in a sleepy Hamilton suburb is quite possibly the best place for breakfast in the Waikato. Fully inclusive menus, plenty of seating, the Sugar Bowl Cafe is a wonderful place to spend a bit of time away from the hustle of the CBD.
Chocolate muffin was so stale. Couldn't even cut it let alone eat it! What has happened to this place?
Amazing place. They were so busy but they still found a table to fit us all (9 in total). Food came out so fast and the flavors were amazing. Highly recommend coming here for anything. We will be back!
Went there specifically to try French toast but got disappointed as the brioche was not socking in the egg mix long, just a quick dip, so inside of the brioche was dry, coffee was good though.
