Awesome sized value for money food. Highly recommend the venison pie. Yes the decor is a bit old fashioned, buy once those fires are going and the food is there, all is well.

Had dinner with the family and the food was delicious server was so lovely and polite, if they have the passion fruit cheesecake as there cheesecake of the day, order it, it's delicious

Have stayed at many pet friendly motels from the bottom of the South Island to Auckland but this was the first & only one that charged an extra $25 for our small dog. Not impressed with not only that but the room wasn't particularly clean either. Not recommended.

Modest but comfortable; clean room and friendly staff Heater worked wonderfully; keeping me warm through the chilly nights.

Stayed 4 nights over Queen's Birthday weekend - the place was filled with anglers - not surprising as the motel is right beside the river - beautiful sight with mountains in the background.

Good location, 5 min to town centre, and 45 min to Mt Ruapehu. Cleanroom organised Bar and Restaurant. Regular housekeeping. Will back surely

Booked in for dinner. Top quality meals that were super generous portions. Attentive service from really friendly staff. Would highly recommend for anyone in the area or traveling through Turangi.

Great comfortable, clean, and affordable accomodation. Restaurant has nice food. Staff are friendly and attentive. Gets a lot of one-night stays as people travel Wellington to Auckland, so if your staying for a while and like your beauty sleep, I suggest asking to be accommodated away from the one-nighters, if possible.

The staff were so friendly and genuinely helpful, especially the owner Charlie, Val and the thoughtful cleaner. Enjoyed the my 3 nights here. Beautiful clean grounds. So peaceful. Food at the restaurant was simply outstanding!

After the tavern took one look at our large group and denied us service, the restaurant here made space for us. And not only was the service great, the food was awesome. Thanks again guys.

Food was great, service good. Unfortunately the wait for food was long as they were slammed with patrons. Overall though good experience, nice relaxed atmosphere.

Sunday night meal after a week with a Bach full of visitors. We both ordered the steak and eggs. Wow what a huge meal. The chips in beer batter were very nice. The steak was a large thick portion. My steak was slightly under cooked from my request but not a problem for me. The meal came with a nicely presented and tasting salad. The restaurant was not busy but we got quick friendly service. Highly recommended for a large home cooked meal. Sorry did not try the desert as we were both full. Will be back.

Stayed 31/1/21 was disappointing paid for room spa bath didnt work spider webs bringing in white tails old bread rolls in the cupboard cleaners do a rush job management wasn't to concerned of the issues no refund offered

This is the best restaurant in Turangi! The food is expertly made with immense flavor. If you are heading to the Mountains or just passing through, its a must stop for dinner!

Clean and comfortable
Dinner in onsite restaurant was about an 8.5 as meal needed to be a bit warmer. Presentation a 10 and staff were polite and helpful Would definitely stay again

Room looks tired and needs a do up. There were four of us so we had 2 units. Only 2 people could shower. No hot water after that. WIFI is extremely slow. It was a cold night, good thing the wall heaters worked as the electric blankets weren't working.

We stayed for 3D2N from 08-10 Jan 2021.
Staff are friendly.
Beds are comfy.
Cleanliness is maintained. They also replace towels and replenish supplies daily.
Food is great.
Proximity to the river and shops is a plus.
Highly recommended.
