Victoria's Cafe Kitchen Bar reviews
68Loved everything here.friendly staff, great food and amazing coffee. Great experience to take back home to Adelaide
Was really disappointed in the meals we got today, Chicken burger was $26 that wasn’t worth it the chicken was small, I had the beef burger, it was bleeding through my burger, I had two bites before I noticed it was raw. I am pregnant a can not eat bleeding or raw meat! I have been sick ever since lunch.
Very sad experience.
Selected this cafe because it was apparently dog friendly, but it’s not really. Dogs are only allowed to sit at the outside tables. In the true sense of being dog friendly is allowing dogs inside the cafe as well. Anyone can sit at an outside table with a dog at any cafe. I mention this because if you are expecting to sit indoors on a cold day your dog is not welcome. Food was fine but nothing amazing.
To drink I had a bowl size Mocha which was lovely. To eat I had the eggs benedict which was very underwhelming. Everything was totally overcooked, the poached eggs came out hard boiled and the rosti was unappetising. For $6 I added mushrooms which came as 6 rubbery button mushrooms without sauce or seasoning. Quite disappointing
Very expensive for what it is. The food was basic and you could tell it was made with cheap ingredients. That would be fine if you weren’t being charged $27 for eggs Benedict. Someone next to us said the place had been sold, hopefully the new owners pick up their game) or lower their prices to match the quality).
Pancakes was the absolute tops! So delicious and the coffee was the best had in the NZ trip
It's a nice diner with casual diner style options.
Most of the portion sizes are large, and very filling. The staff are friendly. Our experience was a little off, they did not put one of the dishes through and there was no apology or recognition.
Apart from that, the place is fairly decent.
Fabulous coffee inclusive atmosphere and food selection changes and caters for all.

We had breakfast here during the Taupo marathon weekend and it was very busy, that said our food came out quickly and hot. Very tasty, fairly priced and great service. Good coffee too! Will definitely be back when passing through Taupo

Great cafe, offer some gluten free options.
Staff were really lovely. Food was a wee bit pricey though
Excellent The town was quiet and it was raining so not busy when we went there but had good coffee and the best savory muffin I have had. My wife had a ginger gem and was very happy with her choice
Lovely fresh food, would be better if portions were alittle bigger for the price, our order was correct & wait time wasn't so long.
Fabulous service from the minute you walk in the door to time you leave. The food is great. All of our group thoroughly enjoyed their brunch choice. Two of us had the pancakes and thought it would be good to be able to choose 1or 2 pancakes as they are big and extremely filling. Lovely cool setting with a choice of indoor or outdoor. Worth the visit.
Great lunch stop. Free 60 minute parking nearby. We had excellent coffees and a “rolled omelette”. It was fluffy and generously filled with chorizo, potato cubes and caremelised onion.
The food was good, but the lady that took our order was rude. I am not from New Zealand and when people speak fast I sometimes have a hard time understanding what they say. I politely asked her to repeat that in a friendly way, when she told me that they were out of wedges and I could only have fries (which was no problem at all) and she proceeded to talk to me as if I was a 3 year old in the most condescending voice. Then she proceeded to be very short with my wife while she was ordering. During our meal I could hear her being rude to another customer because they were given the wrong number (by her) to place on the table so obviously the wrong food showed up, when in reality it should have been the customer upset. Maybe she was having a bad day, who knows but it was horrible customer service and i would not go back specifically so I dont have to ever see her again
Little bit disappointed that there was only 1 gluten free option in the counter. And it was actually keto a little bit tasteless. But apart from that the staff were friendly and the service was fine
Great spot to stop on our way up north. So good that we stopped again on our way back South after our vacation! Great service. Enough space to be comfortable and excellent food. A definite winner for families, a couple, if you are staying in Taupo or just passing through. Highly recommend it.
