Great place for a function, wedding reception. Awesome friendly staff and great atmosphere with wonderful vineyard views. As well as their own product to sample.

After recently moving next to vilagrads I'm (as well as all the neighbours) are really quite fed up eith the bird cannons that go off every 10-30 minutes between 6am and about 10pm. The dogs are terrified and it wakes you up in the evening and in the morning. Come on guys can you use nets like everyone else? Or tone it down a bit?

The very loud party's going well past midnight every Friday & Saturday are also getting pretty frustrating. At least those are tolerable because they do actually come to an end, unlike the canons. Come ou guys can you be more respectful to the community you are based in?

We went for lunch on saturday, delicious homemade food. Variety of lamb, pork and fish. Good selection of wines and beers. Well worth the drive if you are heading to Matamata from Auckland.

My wife and I visited for a Saturday lunch while on vacation in New Zealand. Although it was winter and the last leaves had just fallen from the grape vines, it was a beautiful location. More importantly for our visit the hospitality, wine, and food were all spot on.

In terms of the wine, we tried both the Vilagrad Cabernet blend and the 3 Brothers Pinot Noir. We enjoyed both. The Cab had more berry notes, while the Pinot had more cherry and stone fruit notes.

The buffet lunch was excellent. Our service included roast pork, lamb, and fish. We did not try to the fish ourselves, but we both really enjoyed the roast lamb and pork. The desserts served with the lunch were practically a meal in themselves. We noticed throughout our trip that New Zealanders love their sweets and this spread certainly did not disappoint.

All in all, we would highly recommend the Saturday or Sunday lunch to couples, families, or groups. The location, hospitality, food, and wine are well worth it. The location and facility also looked like a great venue for parties or weddings.

Always a very enjoyable experience at Vilagrads. Food consistently very good. Service always very efficient, warm and very friendly. Have been here many times and will certainly go many more.

So worth a visit. Buffet, food, and service exceptional would recommend group gatherings. Parking on site as well.

The staff were very efficient with the catering of Mr and Mrs Sichone's wedding ceremony and reception.

We went with Glenbrook railway and had buffet lunch there. The food is ok but one of the staff is very rude. I was standing in the queue to get some food for my son. The staff came to me and said “you can’t take the second plate as some people have not had the first plate yet. ” I was shocked and said to her, “I am taking the second plate for my son, the first plate is for myself. What’s the problem? “There were plenty of food on the table. I don’t understand why we cannot take the second plate at a buffet restaurant? My daughter felt embarrassed and accused so she went back to the table without any food. She only had one plate of salad and some dessert for $99! She felt very hungry on the train in the afternoon. I am very disappointed with the service and their arrogant attitude, not recommend!

Had my wedding here and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Location was great, venue is beautiful and the staff there are just lovely! Helen was our "go to" on the day and she was so welcoming and warm to me, my bridal party, the kids at the wedding and all guests. Would highly recommend this venue and their accommodation

My ex colleague and I go there Christmas lunch almost every year and their hospitality is very good.

We went therefor lunch today, it was awesome. My husband enjoyed the meat and fish dishes, while I loved the variety of vegetarian foods. So many salads and the dahl is divine. I appreciate the gf df labels The chef told me there were other vegan options available by request. Plus friendly waitstaff

100% outstanding for any occasion in a lovely setting with wonderful hosts, much fun to be had!

Good food, but very expensive for what you get. The people taking the plates from the tables, doesn't give you a chance to finish your food!

Beautiful wines at a family owned business! Nelda and her lovely staff looked after us. A must try bottle of Valigrad Chardonnay

Came with a big group today for lunch on a bus trip from Tauranga. First time my husband I have ever been. Fabulous venue. Fabulous staff, food and wine. Great atmosphere. Would come back in a heartbeat. Thoroughly recommend for an amazing experience.

Vilagrads, oh so much to say! Vilagrads is our favourite restaurant in the Waikato and anywhere else you care to name. We've been dining there since it opened way back and every, every, single event is just that, an event. Nelda and all her family give us the best, warmest welcome, the food is pure heaven, the atmosphere magic and the service is so friendly and warm. We take friends, relatives and overseas visitors there every chance we get and they've all loved the experience as much as we do and go out bagged up with port and wine, a full tum and a happy soul. My experience here was a dream come true, I got married here last month and all I can say is wow! From the amazing floor/bar staff to the the outstanding wedding coordinator. The food that was served was beautifully cooked and met our dietary recommendations.
We stayed at the Vilagrad suites and was blown away.
5/5! Cannot wait to come back for our 1 year anniversary and devour into the yummy food and Vilagrad wines.

Service terrific. Clean and tidy. Food great. Salmon amazing. Food for wedding was great. Food could have been presented as 3 plates per table instead of buffet style self service.

Attended a nephews wedding. Fabulous facilities and outdoor settings. Staff were really accommodating. Lovely clean surroundings. The food was fabulous. Would highly recommend this venue. The wine was so delicious. The Bride and groom and guests were top priority.
