Sad to say was really bad, had eggs benny broken yolks cabatta swimming ‍️ in water from the eggs and seperated sauce

A really great place to have a meal with friends. Excellent meals well presented by very attentive staff cooked by great kitchen crew. The owner is a wonderful 'mine host' who is more than happy having a social chat at your table with you. Makes for a real entertaining and complete evening.
One of my favorite venues here at Matamata I have to say.

This is a little gem, very good value for money. Pork belly (lean cut which I preferred) with additional veggies, and pan fried fish (smaller size).

Had the chicken fettuccine for lunch. My eyes were bigger than my stomach (how can that be?) as it didn't look much on my plate so had a brownie and coffee as well. OMG! Looks are deceiving as I'm still full 3 hrs later. The brownie was one of the best I've ever had and the pasta was lip smacking yum! Highly recommend this delightful eatery. Awesome welcome and extremely quirky/cool inside. Loved the background music

Honest to God the best toasted sandwich in New Zealand. I never go through Matamata without popping in.

Stopped on my way through Matamata. Service was good and friendly with food prepared quickly. Had eggs benedict always a good benchmark and it was good. Decent latte as well.

I have been coming to this place since it opened and have always found the staff friendly and welling to help. The food has always bee consistently good too.

This kiwi retro gay-friendly place has excellent coffee, good food, excellent service. We need a place to change our clothes because we were heading to a wedding in Tauranga and the manager went out of his way to attend us. He's so kind that we decided to come back next day.same great vibe, beautiful coffee and yummy slices. Eggs Benedict for $22 and a very reasonable portion. Highly recommended!

GORGEOUS food, lovely staff! Just YUM, wholesome, delicious soul food, generous portion sizes to fill your belly on a cold night. Staff are super friendly, smiley and welcoming.

OMG what a place, amazing interior indeed. Welcomed by the staff ordered bacon & egg pie, chicken & mushroom pie, chips and a couple of milkshakes, the food was absolutely fantastic and so tasty and the milkshakes were served in the old metal shake makers. They could not have done anything else, our experience was so good we will be back. A1 all the way.

Amazing Place, Friendly Staff and Delicious Food. We went in a little early before the normal dinner service period, but they happily let us order off the dinner menu. I think my wife and I have found a new favorite spot!

Most amazing chief that has such an understanding to food allergy's also wonderful atmosphere would highly recommend this place affordable

Awesome cafe
We were on our road trip throughout New Zealand and by accident discovered this lovely bar/cafe. Friendly staff, broad menu. Food is incredible. Surprisingly enough they even have keto options for the food, and chef was easy to talk to changing some of receptors to make food just perfect.
