180 Degrees Cafe & Bistro reviews
39Great food. Excellent service and lovely views. Even when they are busy service is prompt plus great coffee
We booked this place by mistake, confusing it with one down the road. After the two negative reviews we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and excellent food. I had the Portobello mushroom and was pleased to get a whole (sliced) avocado with it. My friends were pleased with their choices also. We shared a pecan pie, chocolate brownie and blueberry pie. The brownie was dry and could have used some yogurt or cream; otherwise, no problems.
Good coffee, good lunch food from the menu, portions are generous, tasty & filling. We had the Cajun chicken sandwich in yummy bread & great hot chips and a BLT also on the same bread with chips. The place was busy but tables moved frequently & the staff we’re constantly clear plates away.
“If Jamie Oliver opened a restaurant the people who work here would easily get hired” (11 year old son)
Had lunch there today 6 july. Open steak sandwich & chips. Porterhouse steak - nice flavour with garlic butter sauce but well overcooked. The bread beneath the steak was soaked in the salad dressing and mayo. Fries were nice and coffee vgood. Staff were great considering the place was packed. Didn't have to wait too long for our food. We will try it again for their big breakfast as I've been told its really nice. Took some deserts home - Apple Pie v-nice as was the Tiramisu. P.s. The wife said to mention her Seafood chowder was beautiful.
This morning's kai and kāwhe was consumed ar #180degreescafe Paraparaumu Beach.
Unfortunately, it's not the best Eggs Benedict or kāwhe I've had in the last 6 months of touring the South Island.
Kāwhe was more like dishwater and they also forgot my Mango Smoothie.
Definitely won't be back
A very long wait for coffee- seems understaffed however there was only one other table. Scone was gone 10 minutes before the coffee emerged. Flat white huge cup, very bitter and scalding hot.
Great busy place, quick service with a smile, well presented and tasty food, large portion sizes too so great value.
Noisy and a bit echo-ey, but probably because it was busy!
Fabulous location overlooking the beach out to the island.
Sorry guys was not a great visit last Sunday morning. My eggs benny was fine but wife's breakfast was far from great. Cremated bacon and far too much going on, cheese sauce with the much rooms pesto with the tomatoes, far far too many mixes.
Had lunch there today - we had an outside table as we had a dog with us. Very impressed with the service and food. There were six of us and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Will certainly be going back again. The dog even got given a treat!
This place is amazing. The food is always served quickly and perfectly cooked.the seafood never disappoints. Super impressed with the staff, especially the older gentleman that keeps the cafe clean and is always busy working. Part of me was hesitant to share this hidden gem but it deserves the praise and to be discovered by other lovers of good food.
The puff pastry was so light and flaky that it melted in your mouth plus there was a generous portion of pine nuts.
There were plenty of vegetarian options.
Plus a high light was the out door area was set up to cater for patrons with dogs. There were 3 other groups with dogs when we were there and it was very chilled and relaxed.
Also coffee was prepared just right, strong with well roasted beans.
Food was OK, coffee was average. My real issue is that the place is so tightly crammed with furniture, accessability is a real issue. My mother is in a wheelchair and it's only thanks to the politeness and helpfulness of other customers that we could navigate around inside. And it wasn't just us, even fully-abled people were constantly having to move chairs or ask others to move to get by. Overall not terribly impressed.
Very pleasant, even on a winters day.
A place to relax, take in the view. Enjoy company you're with and meet new people
First time to 180 Degrees after a long time of meaning to go.
Enjoyed my meal of scallops and delicious salad. The king prawns were very good too and apparently the chowder was delicious too. Staff were so nice, enjoyed my lunch there.
Friendly Sunday morning greeting, very enjoyable coffee made to specification. Sunny dog friendly spot with locals happy to chat.
Excellent food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. Better than any other shop on the parade and I would recommend to all!
Had breakfast here on Sunday and was very pleased. Staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. Will definitely re-visit when next in Paraparaumu.
180 is a cosy, popular locals cafe opposite Paraparaumu beach. I enjoyed my scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Hubby rated his all day veggie Breakfast average.
Great spot to watch the World go by. They tell me the fish dishes are excellent. I just had a long black -which was good.
