Aries Restaurant reviews
27Cant believe they don't even allow to split the bill in Aries Restaurant! We had 8 of us in one table and our bill came to be $240. They even argued with us that "no other Restaurant in Wellington will split the bill". Seriously? Which La, La Land are they from or are they just a very "arrogant business practices there" Yes, we will take our money to other Restaurants who will love our kind of money.
It was quiet for a Friday night, which suited us perfectly! Our server was attentive, and the service was quick 15 minutes from ticket to table, but again, not a full house. A well laid out establishment, clean, light, and open with some great little details. There were a few things on the menu that were unavailable, but nothing that troubled us. We ordered sticky rice, pork buns, dim sums, chicken feet, braised pork belly, greens, pan-fried dumplings, turnip cake, crispy squid, steamed pāua and a can of coke each for $210. Beautifully presented, stunning crockery, quality condiments, and the best jasmine tea I've had in a while. Pricey by a little more than some other places but worth it for the extras.
Best Chinese restaurant. Great service & best food. A must to try for those who haven’t been & love Chinese
Food was very average. Couldn't find our booking. Service was robotic. Not keen to go back in a hurry.
Always a wonderful meal and experience at Aries restaurant.
The staff are friendly and very efficient!
I went to get food here for the food time last week and found all the staff very welcoming and the food perfect. I would very much recommend this restaurant to anyone that hasn't been.
Best Chinese food in Wellington. The staff are awesome and look after you like family. Lovely place to eat. One of my favourite restaurants in Wellington
Great food. Best dish was the taro basket with scallops. The seafood was amazing and the flavour of everything was great. Brilliant service and venue too.
Bloody amazing dumplings & yumcha experience. Highly recommend spinach and prawn dumplings
Service is the best compared to other restaurants that offer yum-char. Food was excellent! The restaurant is clean, atmosphere more up-scale.
We went there for a friend's birthday dinner. It was a huge Chinese banquet with numerous dishes. Everything tasted so good. It would be top class even if it was in China. My favorite was the dim sum (much nicer than Dragon's), and my husband's favorite was an eggplant dish. Could be the best Chinese restaurant in Wellington. Would like to try some spicy dishes next time.
Wow, what a night! A very busy friday night but that made it vibrant and lively, and gave it a very authentic asian atmosphere, busy, lots of chatter and staff hustling to keep up to customer demands. The food was excellent and the wait wasn't too long. Helpful friendly staff helped with food recommendations and more indepth descriptions of menu items when queried.and were almost always available to take drink orders. Loved my experience, will definitely be back to try more dishes and I'm sure there is something for everyone as there 170+ items to choose from.
Nice restuarant, went there for yum char. Good service, food and atmosphere. Will go back again
Had lunch at Aries. Food was good. Don't order the chicken with chilies if you can't eat too spicy. Ambiance is nice. Service is ok.
Very average. Arrived after opening, first sitting of the day. Left over food, etc on the floor around our table. Large group. 10 mins into our 1hr sitting limit, food started arriving. A good selection but again average, not all that fresh. Prawn dumplings tasted old and fishy. Definitely not fresh! Everything fried was dirty and greasy. Prob good for Wellington, but poor when compared to other Yum Cha restaurants around NZ.
Great staff! Good food! Took the in-laws here to get them on side, service and food was more than we expected, and we will definitely come back xx
Sorry to give you a low rating, but you really should get ride of Sofia who is terrible in service, actually very rude to customers, no value to the business.
This is a great Chinese restaurant that suits family and friends together to celebrate something.
On Thursday 23rd of June, I came here with couple of friends and thought the food and service was amazing! I absolutely loved it.
However, different experience when bringing family in that weekend and not sure whether it was because it was a public holiday so things got busier, I get it but didnt have the same sort of experience prior. We had a really lovely young man who served us, but the food coming out was limited for Yum Cha. We were told Yum Cha started at 12pm-2pm, and given a menu of all the things offered. Only few items were presented and there seemed to be a rush to cater to other bigger groups even though we booked ahead of time but felt like after 10-20 minutes we had to either call someone just to be noticed as the food was limiting.
Felt like we were also being rushed to finish our food due to the rush, and noticed other families and people coming in were being turned away not because there weren't any seats - but because there was no one on the floor serving just two people doing the orders and also trying to run the restaurant.
Overall nothing wrong with the food, love it but the service and stress I was witness to gave me anxiety abit and would hope maybe more support for staff in the front including more items of food if advertising it.
Group birthday on a Tuesday evening. Lovely atmosphere, great friendly and helpful service, and exceptional food. I'm not a big Chinese food eater, but from all the Chinese restaurants I've eaten in, this has to be the best by far. Highly recommended. Oh, and we'll priced too. Thanks Aries!
