Aro Cafe reviews
52I’d rate it 6/5 if I could. Fantastic food, service, atmosphere. Get the waffles, and taste the rest.
I’ve been visiting for a few days and staying in the area. We’ve been here everyday, such a pleasant cafe with lovely staff. Especially with my 10 month old, happy to make dishes specifically for her. Really appreciate you being so accomodating, thank you.
Lovely sun filled neighborhood cafe, downside is the music choice. Playing party music on a slow Sunday doesn’t fit. Seems like the staff choice to keep them pepped up. But it doesn’t suit the atmosphere.
AMAZING date and orange scones.but truly spoilt for choice from their delicious menu. Exceptional and caring service. Love Aro Cafe!
Eggs Benedict was beautiful, delicious.
Coffee is top notch.
Very loud when busy. Needs acoustic treatment.
Visited Aro Cafe today as it’s been a while since we have been there. Have to say it was absolutely lovely! The front of house lady was so helpful and friendly, the service was very quick, and the food was super yummy. My partner reckons the waffles are the best he has ever tasted, while I really enjoyed the chicken burrito and salad. And to top it off, lovely coffee! I think they have renovated the cafe too, as the chairs were really comfy, with nice tables and a new looking floor. Anyway it was a nice ambience. Thanks team!
The cafe is not central; it took a little walk through a rainy gray Wellington day to get there.
It was well worth it. Well cooked meals, good coffees and an easygoing atmosphere did the trick.
Recommended!
I've been meaning to visit here for years and I wasn't disappointed. One of the very best eggs benedict that I have ever had. Beautiful presentation and with some tasty radish added to perk up the taste buds.
Cute cafe, nice atmosphere, got our orders wrong (given iced lattes instead of iced coffee) and coffee was kind of ehh.
Out of all the hipster cafes in wellington, this coffee is probably the worst, consistently. The food is nice, though expensive
Sadly staff not so friendly.
Coffee was disappointing and food choices limited.
We hadn’t been for quite some time but atmospheric noticeably not the same chill vibe.
Ok ish. The coffee was average (long black was burnt), the second one was watery and on my next visit my latte wasn't creamy and a latte is very forgiving and easy to make. The outdoor chairs are flimsy so be careful or you could fall off.
Nice little place, quite cramped and not much seating. I had a big brekky which was a bit off the mark but decent
One of the many amazing cafes in this city. Really good spot to come hangout drink great coffee and eat excellent food
Love this place. It is a lovely cafe, the only issue I have is that I didn't know about it sooner
Sat down an hour ago, it’s not busy. Got up to order after 15mins of being ignored. Got my coffee a couple of minutes after that. 35 mins after that I leave since my shashuska is no where to be seen.what a horrible place.
Got seated relatively quickly and served within a decent time but i ordered the waffles and it came with a small amount of syrup, i asked for extra and got about a 1/2 shot glass full.i had finished my food before i even got my chai latte pot and when it was served the glass they gave me had lipstick residue all over it, asked for a new mug and the server didn’t say anything, no sorry or anything and just dropped the cup on the table, the food was for the most part good but the hygiene of the glass put me off.
I am a regular gluten free customer who sits eating their very late lunch with their cousin. I like this cafe. I fly in from Christchurch and I move in to the Aro St culture. Cafes, funky Op shop where you always buy something. The Aro St cafe has the best staff.
Great coffee, awesome location for a mountain bike, nice area to sit outside and enjoy watching the street
