Sorry guys, we walked in and walked out again as soon as we saw the comic sans fonts and mismatched table numbers, dried up salmon croissants in the cabinet, generally has the vibes of no one caring. So much potential in terms of one of the best locations in Wellington… but if you don’t care about vibes then I suggest you read another comment!

A beautiful Icon of Wellington, Boat Cafe that Wellington City Council keeping it as a Historic Place especially for famous tourists area around Oriental Parade Beach surrounding the most expensive housing area over all of Wellington.

Must go place in Wellington on a sunny day!
Beautiful sea view with decent quality of food.
Food was not amazing but worth it.
Perfect place for a brunch

We arrived for Saturday brunch and not many customers - but hey, Level 2, so social distancing is a good thing, right? They have have a great-looking selection of cabinet food, including an appetising display of sweets. Seating in the lower area, which has great views into the harbour, and bi-fold windows that must be great on a summer's day. Coffees rarted 'very good' by both of us arrived within 5 minutes, and food no more than 10 minutes after. For me - best Big Breakfast I've eaten in years, For him - Fluffy Pancakes looked amazing and were also declared "Best in Class". Friendly staff topped off the experience. Thank you!

Food overpriced and average $18 for fries with cheese and onion (and missing the stated tomato). Mocha was nice but no presentation. Would be nice if this place improved its food and became a proper table service cafe. Restaurant has a lot of potential given location and some of the other elements like some food is good and some of the bar is well presented but other areas are lacking and it falls short.

Quick service but the food was cold when it arrived, the "hand cut fries" was wedges not even filled up to the top of the bowl, the meal didn't fit the price, plating wasn't up to par, the meal I had was the Pulled Pork Burger and it came with chips, what I got was a small burger with what looked like store bought chips on a large plate

A very very splendid experience, went with 8 or so friends and the service was very fast and exceptionally nice employees. The meal itself, although a little on the smaller side for the price was very very flavourful and had a brilliant feel to it. Overall a pleasant night out

Paid $5 for parking just to find out it wasn't open at 11 a.m. On a Monday even though on their front door/online it said it was waste of time.

Really friendly team. Very accommodating. Food was better than expected. Sure, the boat is a little tired, but the people more than make up for this

This place is average. Food in the cabinets looks tired and unappealing, like there's no one there who's passionate about what they're putting in front of customers. Didn't order off the main menu so can't comment on that. Other than that the location is pretty handy

A delightful place to take the family, especially on a warm sunny day to ensure a great view of Wellington harbour from the Bow of the boat.
While there aren't many vegan dishes available, the staff are happy to accommodate. I had a big breakfast (as photographed). All it really needed was some baked beans to complete it.
Definitely will return on my next Wellington visit.
My children loved their vege pizza.

Great spot but a bit quite when I went, the food was OK. Too many broken windows detracted from the view. Has potential.

Great location and yummy food. Decor tired.
The most delightfully polite front of house ever.

Hospitable. So quiet mid morning weekdays with big table and good internet. Great reading papers etc

Coffee was tasty. But, once very popular place seems to have became unpopular. Hardly any customers at least during the day. Cracked windows. Spider webs. I do hope they do something more about this place because it is very nice boat cafe and they can do better than now.

Ordered the Pork belly with a side of chips, literally the chips were the hottest item of food. Rest was cold.
Don't recommend. Not worth the price you pay for the quality of food you recieve.
Won't be returning.

Furniture and decor is tired and dated. Food is a bit pricey and basic. Nachos consisted of beef chilli with sour cream and cheese only, no salsa, no guacamole. We asked for an omelet with no tomato and it came out with tomatoes.
Not like the tugboat of old. I see there's similar reviews on here too, I hope the owners take note and make some changes because it has huge potential with one of the best views in that area.

A joke. Kids cheeseburgers were simply the bun with a bit of melted cheese inside. Waitress told me that is what a cheeseburger is. Just a bun with cheese! Also got the kids a medium sized raspberry and lemonade. On getting the bill, $10 each! Cruddy meal, shocking.

I love the Boat Cafe, so quirky! They do an awesome Dirty Almond Chai latte. It's under new owners now and the bakery cabinets had a revamp. It's been painted inside and looks fresher than it did.
Awesome views and a nice outdoor area.
Good place for WiFi and work also as it's not always loud and busy like a lot of cafes in the city centre.
They will do vegan options if you ask too.
Would be better if they had some vegan specific options on the menu.
