Cafe Vanilla reviews
20They provide Havana coffee so are a safe bet. Friendly staff that know their regulars well. A good spot before work
Overpriced, over-extracted, overly hot coffee but conveniently located. Take a 3-5 minute walk to better coffee on Molesworth St
Nice surprise in this small cafe, friendly staff, good food for a reasonable price and good coffee (especially the latte)
Popped in here for lunch. Food was great and staff welcoming. What struck me first was the line of tables along the left wall and everyone seated as if at a boarding school dinner. There’s limited space to be creative in layout without doing something with the food cabinets, but it would be a great opportunity for an interior designer to “zing” it up a bit.
Music choice was a little “adventurous” today - luckily my little Miss 10 didn’t pick up on the lyrics!
Very handy meeting location if you work nearby. Opens early, and closes shortly after 3. A little noisy and tables are close together. Fast, friendly service.
Everytime I go guaranteed friendly staff, amazing food at great prices.
Not rushed and you can relax. They are happy to do take out in case you dont finish.
Great coffee and croissants. But what makes this place so good is the ambience and the owner who is so friendly and helpful
Had the "warm lamb salad" for lunch here, it was disappointingly small and unfilling - a few small bits of lamb, mostly just a tomato and green leaf salad. Definitely not worth $18
Thank you Wow I love how this guy's service next time I will be coming here again to have my breakfast
Good coffee really helpful staff, my go to place near work. I like to support the owner, really nice man who always says hello and smiles
Nick and team have been my go to for 10 years. Brilliant coffee great food and a great relaxed atmosphere. Is still the reference I judge all coffee shops against. Nick sets the bar high and will continue to be my go to.
The very best customer service in a city filled with similar Cafés. The fare on offer may not be to everyone's liking, but it's the smiles by Nick's staff, everytime the same, that sets this place apart. Worth way more than 5 stars! By far the best Cheese Scones in Wellington!
Beautiful food, awesome coffee, good environment, lovely staff. Best cafe in town. Highly recommended
Terrible. Had the mini breakfast. The sausage was obviously microwaved and reheated, hard as a rock and piping hot. Potato was greasy and soaked in oil. Low effort, over priced garbage breakfast.
I am a faithful patron of Cafe Vanilla. One thing that sets Vanilla apart from the many other cafe's in the area is the great service from Nick and his staff. 1st class service! The very best Cheese Scones in New Zealand! Highly recommended.
Entertaining staff with great banter. I visit here regularly to catch up with Nick (the boss man). The coffee baristas even make my coffee before I’ve had a chance to order and pay.
Friendly staff! Just ordered an Americano - nice coffee. And a “mini-breakfast” - Delicious! The price is mini (compared to most WLG CBD cafes) but the size is not really mini. I’ll be back
I love the way they present their tea. I'm also a fan of booth seats as most Wellington cafes only have tables which don't feel as cute and private.
Had a long black three times now in the last few months and they've all been great. Also had some food which was delicious. Friendly, prompt and helpful service. Nice to have a great cafe so handy. No wonder it's always busy!
