Humble and friendly family-owned eateries that offers real good food. Went there after seeing good rating and decided to try the mapo tofu with rice, deep fried wonton and braised duck with rice. The mapo tofu is so good and its my first time trying mapo tofu. The braised duck is good too! Definitely would like to try their braised pork belly next. The deep fried wonton is a bit over fried and the kiddo apologised for it which is fine. And the taste not bad just find it abit lack of meat inside. Definitely will come back to try more of other dishes. Seatings abit limited and are mostly double and probably only 1-2 bigger table cn accomodate 4-6 but mostly people come in pairs or take away so when we went there we direvtly got a 3 person seat. Parking is off street and abit limited too.

Super friendly here, plus a great range of Asian cuisine. I had Thai honey chicken, very fresh and delicious.

The Hong Kong noodles with pork and dumplings is just the best. I keep coming back. Amazing.

The best food in Newtown! We’ve had vegan pad Thai and mee goreng and they were bomb! 100% recommend!

What an amazing find, the food was tops. Made by real experienced people who know flavours. Awesome place to eat, highly recommend to everyone and I will be back for more. Yum!

Fully rapt with the food and service. Finally found a place. I can a grab bowl of Wan-Tan-Hor even though it wasn't on the menu. Enjoyed my Chicken Laksa with garlic roti bread and the missus's Green curry beef was pretty top notch to.

A clean and tidy Mom and Pop’s restaurant, certainly one of the best chinese takeaways that we’ve tried. The quality of food is above your usual takeaways, in fact the deep fried wontons are the most delicious and crispy that we had anywhere in NZ. We had the Pork Belly noodle soup with generous amount of fresh bakchoy, cooked just right. And the thin noodle and pork belly are as tasty as ramen. My wife’s mapo tofu was equally delicious. We want to go back but they’re closed on weekends.

The kai is outstanding here, and so is the service. We are locals and every time we go in there, the lovely lady remembers our names and acts happy to see us. My favorite is the Hainanese Chicken and the dumplings, but I also love the wraps and the curry. Newtown's Best Kept Secret.

Best of the best. If you are looking for authentic asian food, you’ve found it! Would definitely come back Chinese Sausage and pork belly fried rice must try.

On Tuesday 28th of June 2022 just after 8: 30pm I had THE BEST chicken nasi goreng in my life! The food was beyond delicious abd the vegetables were so fresh amd crunchy as if they'd just picked them from their back yard. The lovely old lady was so kind and inviting. Im sure i came in after they'd closed but that beautiful old lady was so friendly and inviting. If i could give them 10 stars I would. This place is a must if you love incredibly fresh healthy food and beyond amazing service:)

Good food. Quite affordable. We ordered Singapore fried noodles, prawn wonton and chicken dumplings. Everything was yummy. Highly recommend if you in Newtown.

This is the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in Wellington. Fresh veggies, superb flavors, eco friendly packaging, good prices, lovely friendly service. Lots of vegan choices. Our new favorite! Can’t wait to return.

Arrived for dinner close to closing time, and were welcomed in a warm friendly manner. Asked for suggestions and loved the fresh flavoursome food. Quick, clean and great value. Thank you will definitely return and recommend.

The char kway teow (lunch special) was absolutely amazing. There was a long wait and I was late back to work but I understand this - the restaurant was so busy because lots of places nearby were closed for NYE. The CKT was worth the wait.

Just bought a meal from this place
The eco bowl packaging is really good and the old lady that handled the order was also nice
However, a long strain of hair in the bowl that made me want to vomit after I found it buried inside the meal
Just be careful next time
