Chipmunks Playland and Cafe Tawa

Awesome place for kids of all ages! New and improved, definitely recommend this place for hours of fun.

Great place to let my kids blow off some steam. For parents like me who wish to sit, enjoy a coffee and do some work, make sure to bring a jumper. It's rather nippy.

Has had a revamp. The kids love it.
Pros. Good is reasonably priced (except the jelly), lots of variety in terms of play area - 5-6 year old played for hours. The disco lit slide is very cool. Generally clean and tidy. The glass bathroom is great H&S aspect, makes you feel ok for your bigger kids to go on their own.
Cons - little but expensive. $45 for two kids plus a pair of socks.
Staff were pretty good except one young girl with hickies on show and then later was in the toilet doing TikTok’s in the cubicle next to me - that was a bit weird (hard to put that on management though).

I absolutely love the revamp of this play centre! They've done an amazing job. The improvements are so cool and the kids loved it. The place is super clean and the staff are awesome. I'm more than happy to pay more because I see the value in the investment, work and efforts put in!:)

Such an awesome experience! My daughter loved everything about it, such a good setup! Everything was just so clean! So much to do, we stayed for hours! Will definitely be back regularly! Thank you Chipmunks Tawa!

Pretty new facilities and lots of things for the children to do. There were a lot of families when we were there, but it didn’t feel crowded. The tables were well spaced out for adults to enjoy some time out.

Under new management, and you can tell.
Brand new play areas for the kids, and they love it.
Great seating area for the adults.
Facility's are clean.
The coffee was good and the iced mocha was terrific.
The best wedges I've had in years.
Prices not cheap, but not a rip-off either.
Prices are on the website menu so you won't get a shock.

It is what you would/ should expect.
Happy screaming children and parents/ caregivers having a few minutes to sit down and have a drink or bite to eat.
They have a smaller fence of area for the little ones to explore and the more adventurous children can go through the slides and climbing areas.
The food suffers from airport pricing (is the only food in our and we can make a cap job of it, cause you can't bring your own, oh and we will charge you an arm and a leg for it), the coffee was drinkable, but expensive. The chicken nuggets and chips were dry (for the nuggets) and soggy for chips.
All in all a great morning, no surprises here

Awesome potential but based on the previous reviews the facilities have been run down over the last year or so.

Certain parts of the playground were worn out with padding tearing away and wooden panels exposed to playing children.

Playgrounds were a mess and games tables missing equipment and parts making them suitable to play.

Not one of the 8 balls cannons were operational.

Staff were out the back the whole time and only came out when people were waiting at the counter.

Also no music was playing? Would have thought music was standard of a place like this.

Cheap to get in, reasonably priced food, the only reason I didn't give it five stars is the mens toilet has been broken for our last 3 visits

Children had fun, equipment needs updating and maintenance. Brought my kids here 6 or 7 years ago and nothing had really changed besides the aged equipment

Amazing staff (two of them!) handled a packed house full of xmas crazed kids and parents like complete pros! We had a double bday party with over 15 tamariki and heaps of hungry, thirsty parents who ordered coffees and burgers, pizzas etc. I was amazed at how they gave us all such great service! Those two young staff on 18 Dec 2022 deserve recognition for a job extremely well done!

Great for the kids, we had hired one of those rooms for a Birthday party a small gathering had cheese crackers, and bree cheese, nice pieces of fruit, popcorn, chips ecta but not sure if you can leftover food home with you was not cheap just over 300.drs for something like a couple of hours.

I came here to check out the under 2s area and I was not disappointed. Heaps to do for the little ones and big ones.

Hectic and noisy. There's the most annoying noise ever in the playground it must drive everyone crazy. Absolute madness.
I'd rather go to laughalots or awesome bounce. This place is the worst.

Havent been here in years since ive moved out of town. Recently attended a 2nd birthday party here and was surprised at the changes made to the place and i love it! Well done to the new owners for this. The nursery spot for younger babies and mums to relax instead of just being at the tables is soo cool! Gives parents the chance to have their baby out on a little baby swing or playmat instead of beung held around or in the pram so they get a chance to have some fun too! Love the table tennis, hockey and shooting area as well which my kids enjoyed

Great place, great service! We booked a venue for our child's birthday and received fantastic service from the team at Chipmunks. The venue is very clean, well run and safe for kids. The food and snacks were also really good and kids loved it. Will definitely recommend.

Chipmunks Playland and Cafe Tawa is a great little spot for the little ones to burn off some energy.

There are a number if different areas available and cordoned off, especially for the smaller ones which is great as the majority of other kids play grounds don't have barriers in place.

There is plenty of activities and areas for young explorers to run around including a ball area, slides and climbing areas.

The staff are 5 star, they re super friendly and very helpful with the different menu items available during covid restrictions.

The food was great, we had nuggets and fairy bread which my little man absolutely loved.

There are a plethora of seats available as well which is also great compared to other centre's.

I would highly recommend coming down and visiting Chipmunks Playland and Cafe Tawa with your little ones.

This is my son's favorite play are. The coffee is great as well. Lots of activities for the kids and lot of room. The staff is great and we always have a good time. Also very good wifi if you have to pull out your work laptop.
