Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay

Price point is good. Location brilliant and always as for a sea view. However, a little dated and needs a bit of TLC.

Service is great. Friendly and helpful staff.

Tip get a coffee from Lola's 1 min away to your right as you leave.

Always a great place to relax in the lounge and bar, which I do frequently.
But staying here was altogether a very different experience. Read the negative accomodation comments in other posts and make your own decision. If you are a grabone client be warned. Rooms were tired and not of the high standards one would expect for the price range.

In a Northerly wind in which the plane just landed, we were given a north facing room on level 8. The windows coped well, as did the tiny little radiator, which just about took the chill off the air. Nice sized rooms. Staff not the friendliest. Both warmer rooms and staff at more modest and less known locations. Would not choose to stay here again.

Disappointing. No good plunger coffee in the room, no heated towel rail, no robe, TV has very strange settings and it takes time to work it out, but still no news and no movie channels. I did mention that it was for my birthday stay and I didn't expect much, but something nice and tiny would've have made a difference, but no, not even a welcome word from the reception. The staff was not overly interested in the guests either. The view is as great as usual, and another positive was the good cleaning team, but it feels that it's time to start exploring other, hopefully more welcoming hotels in Wellington.

We had a great stay. Parking was a small issue but okay if you know the extra parking is across from the rear entrance.

Very busy, but medium sized buffet restaurant. Went for breakfast, so don't know what the other mealtimes are like. Good food choices. Something for everyone. Situated on the 7th floor. If you get a good seat, views over Oriental Bay.

Absolutely love this hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Great shower. Outstanding views over Oriental Bay and the City ️ Perfectly placed for The Papa, Cuba Mall, Courtney Place and the best walk along a seafront ever!

Great hotel to stay at for a visit to Wellington. It is well located, has fabulous harbor views, offers a quiet comfortable room to escape to and is staffed by very helpful friendly people! Great stay for us!

Good friendly service. The location along Oriental Parade makes it a good place to stay. Good for a walk along the waterfront on a good day in Wellington. The hotel is near Courtney Place (easy to find good cafe, restaurant and bar. Near a big cinema, supermarket and Te Papa museum. The hotel itself is well maintain though not new. Breakfast supply of hot food may be a bit slow on a busy day. Good view of Wellington.

Amazing views, beds are extremely comfortable and the staff are amazing. I would highly recommend the Copthorne hotel to all.

I had to cancel the room last week after driving all the way from Auckland. The room looked damp and not maintained professionally. They advertised in the website with a mixture of photos of all rooms and we never know how the room u book looks like.really upset.

Decent hotel in great location by the sea. Wonderful views. Some odd omissions in the rooms - no toothbrush, no USB. WiFi was dodgy. Service was good.

Was a lovely looking hotel, friendly helpful staff. Only down side was the high food prices and slight dings and cracks and uneven woodrobes in the bedroom. Other than that, very nice, close to city centre and great view of the harbor.

Great location and comfortable, big rooms. Mine had a water view and balcony, really nice. Best part is the service, the staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond!

Das ist ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel mit freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Es liegt unweit des Zentrums, was leicht zu Fuß zu erreichen ist. Auch der Fährhafen für die Fähren zur Südinsel ist nur ca. 5 km entfernt.

Very accommodating manager when we arrived with a rather large camper van for a nights respite in a months roadtrip. We had booked the stay, and parking, way in advance with tour operator and when we arrived were informed the van was too big for the car park, James sorted us out promptly and without fuss. Legend!

Lovely views, nice clean room. Friendly staff. Really close to the city and everywhere you want to go.
