Don’t believe the negative reviews, I encourage you to give this place a try! Used to go here a decade ago and the food was always nice. I had a guest staying with me who wanted curry for dinner I was quite dubious about going here because of the bad reviews. Very happy to report takeouts last night were super delicious and the staff were so helpful. I ordered a vegetarian dish and asked for a mild heat. The lady who was on the phone apologised saying that it started from medium and suggested another dish. Had not tried that dish before and I am pleased that I branched out as it was a most pleasing taste sensation! The nans were huge and full of yummy garlic and butter. Although I had a takeaway meal, the interior looked really welcoming and I think it might have looked better than 10 years ago!

My family has been a regular customer of Curry Village for a long time. However, since last two purchases (last one tonight - two beef biriyani) they have disappointed us. The biriyani had no flavour and masala. It’s disappointing the quality of Indian flavour is deteriorating. Won’t be returning anymore!

Curry Village is delish! I have never eaten in but I often get take aways and it’s always tasty, warm and packaged nice, and nice amount of vege and meat, I would recommend the Mushroom Masala. They are also very quick to prepare.

Shut up and listen. I'm telling you, the absolute best in Wellington. And TBH the best Indian I've ever ever had. I say it every single time we have, best bloody curry I've ever had. Garlic naan is awesomely chewy and lathered in a tonne of garlic. We're vegetarian dishes and the flavour is outrageous. Multiple subtle layers with a depth of lasting flavour that just rocks me. And every single dish is unique to itself and always noticeably different from the next. This is the real deal. Listen to me. Just order and weep before its splendour. You will lose your one dimensional preconceived notion as of curry, and gain an intimate understanding that is not just limited to taste and smell. You will learn something, and you will gain something. A tasty and experience that will sate you, quietly, to a better, calmer place

Recently ordered a butter chicken, lamb korma and three garlic nans. Terrible experience, both curries were more like a soup and contained minimal meat. All three nans were burnt. For almost $60 you'd expect better. Curry village was once my go to, so not sure why this time around the food was so bad. Emailed them to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation but receive no response. Wont be going here again.

I usually enjoy meals from here but tonight I was very disappointed. Ordered Chicken Jalfrezi and was surprised when it arrived. It literally looked like they'd thrown their leftovers into the container. It was tasteless, which is unheard of for Indian meals. The chicken looked like it was leftover tandoori. The best part of the meal was the delivery.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Lady at the front counter has no manners and is incredibly rude. I called her asking for availability and all she said was yes and hung up the phone. This is not the first time she has done this. Get better staff!

Very disappointed. I made booking beforehand for 4 people, to celebrate my youngest son's 19th birthday. We were astounded when the waitress asked to see my son's ID. He's 6 foot 3 with a full beard and most certainly does not look under the legal drinking age. He didn't bring his wallet with because it wasn't necessary. Both my husband and I were really annoyed. We are a decent, respectable family, not a bunch of rowdy students who could potentially be under age drinkers. This was meant to be a birthday dinner for our son. My husband left us at the restaurant, drove home and got some ID for my son, drove back to the restaurant and showed it to the waitress so that she could bring him the Corona that he ordered. The manager then came to the table and asked to see his ID again, making us feel like we were being deceitful in some way. By this time our evening was ruined, and we just wanted to eat our curry and leave. But, to top it off the Lamb Hyderabad that we ordered didn't even have lamb - it was beef! Such an utterly disappointing experience. We will never return.

I always try to come here whenever I’m in Porirua. It was here that I first fell in love with Malai Kofta, but all the dishes I’ve tasted from Curry Village have been wonderful. The balance of spices is best-in-class. Don’t let the modest appearance fool you. You won’t find better tasting Indian food in NZ.

Got chicken korma and a butter naan by Delivery Easy. Really good curry. Nicely hot (kiwi hot) nice flavourful spices. Naan bread was huge, more like 2 naans from other places. Very tasty and happy to recommend.

Beautiful food and wonderful service. They even let my son eat his subway in the restaurant with us because he doesn’t eat Indian food. Thanks for your understanding. Would definitely recommend to others 100%

Took my girlfriend out for dinner she's from out of town. It's a favourite of my husband & I but the first time my friend had been there very impressed with food & service thought could have been more of a choice for glass of pinot noir

Order was compleyely wrong and one item leaking blamed the driver but clearly the lid wasn't on, not the drivers fault. Sent chicken dishes when we ordered vegetarian.

Ordered kadahi paneer but either chef doesn't know it comes with capsicum or he forgot. Worst curry i ever tasted.

Went here on a monday night. They were not busy so food came out very fast. The flavors were great. Nice a d friendly waiters. The place has good ambience. 10 of us and we had a good time here.
Maybe the toilets can do with a do-over. This was the only let down.

Service was a little slow and we had to wait a while to have someone come and take our drinks order despite being the only people in the whole restaurant. Food was really good though and definitely made up for it! Would go back again.

We have always used Curry Village in the past as our preferred local Indian takeaways but we have not ordered for some time - not sure if new chef or owners however we ordered x 4 butter chicken as takeaways, roti, deep fried mushrooms and spring rolls - the butter chicken was not particularly creamy and was completely spoilt by some over powering fragrant aromatic taste, we received burnt Nairn bread instead of roti - the deep fried mushrooms were not whole but a small serving of very small sliced mushrooms and the spring rolls were unremarkable- very disappointing and a waste of money - I did call the store to advise these things - we will not be ordering from Curry Village again.
