Dragons Restaurant reviews
65Good service, Love it. If you are a vegetarian you better book in advance and pre order food. Since they mostly have meat. But still they do serve u vegetarian on request
Amazing place! With great choices of food. Better to go with group to enjoy different varieties.
Yum Cha at Dragons is an amazing and delicious experience. The staff do an amazing job of keeping the dishes coming with many many options to choose from. So many different steamed, fried and roasted options, and very reasonably priced. Normally a group of 4 or more could expect to be very satisfied with a budget between $16 -$22 per person, depending on how many high value dishes are chosen. (The pork belly and roast duck are amazing, but 2 of the pricier options, saying that one pork belly is cut into bitesize pieces and is large enough for 6 or 8 people to have a few pieces each). Can't recommend this place enough, I jump at the chance to go here for lunch.
Their dinner menu is equally fantastic. I've only had dinner here 3 times, but each time I've been blown away. The portion size is very generous on the mains, so you can deliciously look forward to left overs the following day for lunch or dinner. The orange beef is one of the best I've had in Wellington.
Whether lunch or dinner the Jasmine tea is refilled regularly, there are a bunch of other drink options, but the tea complements the dishes so we'll it's usually all we order.
The front of house staff are also absolutely awesome, always willing to try and accommodate customer requests, welcoming, and efficient. The entire operation runs smoothly, and I can't wait to go back and try a new dish.
Worthy of at least 5 stars!
WONDERFUL restaurant. This place serves the best and highest value Chinese food we have had. Every plate was delicious. Super clean and comfortable restaurant with great service and amazing food. Cannot be faulted - this place is just great.
1st time here, been wanting to come for long time. Well worth the visit, restaurant was packed but managed to get a table. Lots of choice with Yum Char. Absolutely delicious food so much to choose from. Must go back.
This is a great restaurant, the minute you walk in you feel welcome they are amazing at everything they do probably the best service I have ever had. The food was yum will go back every time we are in Wellington
Many yum cha places around the area but best flavours, service and energy at Dragons. Some other places aren’t great on service and the flavours are not as clean. We don’t bother going anywhere else anymore.
Lovely food but a bit pricey for some. Our chicken and corn soup was cold though.
Felt like we were being rushed through. Very crowded.
Not from Wellington. Always come to Dragons Restaurant (3 years) Great food. My friend is Vegan. They are able to accommodate such dietary requirements which is wonderful. Delicious food always. Very efficient food and beverage staff. Highly recommend you visit for an authentic Chinese culinary experience.
We had a good time and plenty of food. The food was delicious and we will come back. Staff is always around if you need something. Thanks to all of them.
Authentic good Chinese food. Excellent taste. You can request how you want to dishes to be cooked. You must book a table in advance especially on Friday night or weekend to secure a place as it is full most of the time. Popular restaurant for the Kiwis.
Very bad dining experience. Bad attitude to guests. We only used 35min to have food but they push us leave for the reservation and state we have had one hour. When we check our parking ticket. Obviously, they lied. Shame on you
Very busy, yet cold food presented frequently. Quite dissapointing. Only redeaming dish was the chicken feet. Which was very tasty. But otherwise, would skip for another yum cha.
It was packed on the day, and service felt rushed. We had gone for yum cha and we immediately were pounced on with the desert trolley, some of the waiters where quite abrupt. The main food was pretty good, but you sort of felt you needed to eat fast and get out. 1 hour is not bad to eat, not good when you feel you have to leave quickly.
Very tricky place. Tried to charge us tea that we didn’t order.
The service was bad and we felt like being rushed. We went there with a child and need to settle the child down first but the staff already approached us asking what do we want to order and not long after that another one approached us… i mean like hey, we haven’t even sat or looked at the menu yet…
Also they walk from table to table with the dimsum on the tray and ask you what you want but they didn’t cover the food…they might spit something out onto the food while asking around and I feel like throwing up thinking about it…
Not recommended and will not coming back.
I would suggest you book as we did, it was packed.
Within minutes of sitting at our table the food trolleys arrived serving their dishes to us. There was so much to choose from that we felt terrible turning away a lot of the trolley servers. Highly recommend this restaurant for their authentic dishes and faultless service. This is now our number ONe Yum Cha Restaurant.
Usually very busy so there is a bit of a wait. However, the food was quite nice. Good atmosphere too
Always love the food in this restaurant
Many choices to choose from Starters to desserts. Affordable price and kid friendly. Highly recommend. Thank you.
BEST YUM CHA IN WELLINGTON! I'd give a full 5 stars, however it is a bit uncomfortable that you are only allowed a 1 hour sitting when doing yum cha for lunch on the weekend. The food is amazing, but it feels like you need to scarf it down in order to stay within the 1 hour booking. They literally write down the time of the start of your reservation, to when you need to leave. Feels like they just want to get people in and out to maximize profit. Still, amazing food
Food is greasy and expensive. Definitely is NOT best yumcha in town. Be careful you may eat more paper than food, most of the dimsim or hacau have paper lining stick to it and can't be removed. Food taste so average, you can get better food for your dollars elsewhere. Looks around you may find some tea cup on the table have yellow stain on them.ohhhh one more thing don't get the fry lobster tail for $36.
