Enigma Cafe

The price of food and cakes, has gone up quite abit. It used to be a nice place to go; given the price increase I'd suggest going else where.

Recently lost some of its appeal for me. Usually the food is quite good and the seating while sparse is decent. There outdoor area has officially been surrendered to the pigeons and their salads have gone down in quality.

Great place to go for late night coffee and cake.
The quality of coffee is always good, and the menu is right up there too.
Always a friendly atmosphere.

They just raised the price of their iced coffees/chocolates from $6 to $11.this feels like a pretty ridiculous leap to me. I probably won't be going here anymore. Used to really enjoy it.

I‘ve ordered chicken & avocado salad many tims but this time was different, it’s not made by chicken breast anymore and no pumpkin. I felt disappointed and won’t order it anymore.

Awesome place, chilled vibes, cool old school music & friendly waiter. Loved the outside where the table and chairs are under shelter found it to be alot more nicer, quiet, sheltered & relaxing than inside (especially in summer) the food portion size was very generous and the taste of the food had flavour it wasnt boring - a big thankyou and high five to the chefs. The food didnt take long to come either by the time we sat down had a few sips of our drink and chatted the food was infront of us and it was a busy time too! My partner had the steak and said it was one of the best steaks hes ever had they cooked it how he wanted it. I had the salad and it was very yummy! They are open til late which we found was great we didnt have to rush
We scored 9/10 (9 because we felt the drink selection was abit stink eg - no cans or medium sized of coke zero, sprite, fanta, L&P etc all those popular kiwi drinks) it was mostly all small fancy glass bottled drinks the mls inside the glass bottles just wasnt enough! We had to keep sipping away on the water we wernt prepared to pay $4.50 for a glass bottle of small coke 3-4 small mouth fulls and it was gone (especially in summer where we get thristy) put that aside we walked away happy, belly was full.we will be back!

The iced chocolates here are amazing and the staff always seem very chilled and friendly. Brilliant portion sizes and perfect to end a late-night adventure.

One of the best burgers I have ever had! Cool environment and amazing food. I wish I had time to go back and eat there again.

Central Wellington. Food. Makes sense I guess. Incredibly good milkshakes and great selection of cakes and slices. I don't know anything about coffee. Atmosphere is nice. I'm so sick and tired of bars and clubs, and this was a nice step back.

I went with my grandparents and partner, the majority of us had the beer battered fish with fries and salad. I can say this meal was superb, the fish tasted fresh and crispy and tartar sauce was a delicious accompaniment. Great service and atmosphere.

Food is consistently good - the dinner snacks and burgers are delish. Staff often come across disinterested, but the place still has a great vibe. Accessible and very central!

The food was great, only thing to note was that one of the kitchen staff walked outside with his apron on and had a smoke and came back in and resumed duties. But again, the food was epic, and the iced coffees were beyond expectation

Enigma is just the perfect eating place in a City. It offers a wide variety of foodstuff and drinks, but more importantly good atmosphere. A must visit.

Great deserts and also main courses, super friendly staff and also plenty of vegan and vegetarian and gluten free options. Highly recommended

This place is great if you're out late. Example - been pacing yourself on the drinks elsewhere (to drive home) and wind down with friends before aforementioned drive.

We are in 2019 and not much can be done on the internet with 50mb.

Even after purchasing the "unlimited data" plan for 3 extra dollars (I've never seen this ever before), the wifi was not properly functioning.

If you dare asking us for money for internet connection, at least make sure it works!

As crew members on cruise ships, we need internet outside of the ship to keep in touch with our families.
Having trouble sending messages on what's app using the premium package is not acceptable.

The coffee was nice!

Great little cafe, always warm inside and friendly customer service. The food is well priced and they do a great Chai Latte!

Staff are friendly. All the times I’ve been to enigma my meals have always been hot and tasted delicious. Also the hipster atmosphere is relaxing and very chill lol

Great food, great service, great atmosphere, had to fight a pigeon off of my meal with a knife.i strongly do not recommend eating outside if you see two unruly pigeons, one has a bung foot, the other has feathers missing, they've obviously had a hard upbringing and i wish them all the best.however, they will stop at nothing to take what you have.

Enigma is more or less perfect. I've never had a bad coffee there, they always have excellent cake and cheesecake, and I like the "street" vibe.
