Himalayan Kitchen reviews
63 It is good for Indians cuisine I really enjoyed all kebab chicken malai kebab chicken tikka was so delicious goat Rogan josh lamb biriani and cheese garlic Nan carrot halwa was too good.
Amazing food and lovely service.
I have dinned in this restaurant on a number of occasions and I have always really enjoyed my meals with great service and a good experience.
I often grab a takeaway for the convenience and tonight 10th Oct my meal was exceptionally good, very fresh and very tasty and piping hot when I got home. The spicy level was hot and just right. My cheese and garlic Naan was also the best.
Tonight I got the lamb sagawala.
I recommend dinning here, or grab a takeaway and try it for yourself.
Thank you so much.
The food was fairly disappointing. We got momos because who wouldn't when they are available. The dough on them was a bit chewy. The yellow lentils were almost flavourless. The lamb meatballs were probably the highlight, but they were a bit dry. Lastly, the duck curry would have been fine except it was actually chicken curry. When I asked the server if it was duck when it tasted like and looked like chicken, he disappeared to ask the kitchen and never returned with the answer. The answer was, of course, it was chicken that they substituted for duck. Really bad.
Best curry we've found in Paraparaumu / Waikanae. Often get it delivered via deliver easy. We went in one once and had curry there. Food was excellent as always though the atmosphere was about the same as your average curry restaurant. Haven't tried any of the Nepalese dishes yet cause the indian curries are too good to pass up.
We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo and cheese naan.
Everything was so good and quick!
Great service and yummy food
Delicious Food & love that they have a 'medium hot' which adds just enough kick, but doesn't make it so hot you can't eat it.
Nice chicken, no gristle!
My favourite Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Kapiti.
It is a shame, but I must amend my previous review. Placed my second order this evening and was very disappointed. I ordered a chicken tikka starter and a chicken jalfrezi. The starter had only a subtle flavour, but was alright. The main was terrible. Hardly any sauce, very little flavour in the sauce I did get, and absolutely no spice (was supposed to be medium). Also arrived lukewarm and needed reheating in the microwave. Shame, but I can not recommend this restaurant.
Cosy ambience, delicious food and great service. Visited first time, will definitely visit again. Yummy food!:)
Amazing food, all cooked so fresh, the samosas tasted like they had just been made. All our mains were excellent too. Well worth a visit, bookings probibly best if dinning in.
First time dining here and we WILL return. Generous servings of tender chicken with mouth watering flavors. Friendly service and very good value. Thanks!
Good service, food was yummy, good cooks here, now my favourite Nepalese/Indian restaurant, unpretentious building but who cares if the food is great. A lot of Indian restaurants have mainly sauce/gravy but here that didn't happen so worth the money. And no greasy oily so no indigestion. Thank you.
We ordered the Himalayan special and the Meat was way too salty. Will come here again but won’t order this dish again
Thanks
What a wonderful hidden gem! Found online when looking for a Kapiti eatery & decided to try it - good idea on our part! The people were lovely and the food was A1 deliciousness! We had the tandoori platter - selection of different meats with a lovely creamy mint sauce as well as some chicken dumplings - yummo!
Situated in a house, it had a nice ambiance & pictures of Nepal & the Himalayas. Food is slightly different from ypur usual indian fare with slightly different spice combos. Delicious & interesting. Will definitely return!
The most genuine amazing people! And the food is the most authentic I have ever had in NZ - they had garhwali curry which I haven’t been able to find anywhere since India. I came very late and they made my food takeaway for me with a smile it was just so amazing! I can’t say more positive things about it. Best people!
I pretty much liked what they had to offer. Tried some Indian food and was pretty sumptuous. Would definitely recommend.
Behind the railway station so right in the heart of Paraparamu and with lots of parking.
Had to ask for drinks, had to ask to order. Samosa Luke warm, curry to hot to eat and the hot curry was mild.
Very low quality of food which was many time served uncooked and without salt at all (test less Curry).
It also served uncooked naan bread too.
I would give you a zero star if is there any.
Waste of money and time at this place.
Had dinner last night, had to ask to order our drinks, also our meals.
Never came back to check on anything or ask if we wanted another drink.
The Samosa was luke warm, and the curry was too spicy to eat. Very disappointed.
Horrible experience of buying Momos from here, I paid $16 for 5 pieces of Momos which is twice expensive then other places and Momos was uncooked and tasteless.
Amazing food and really lovely service.
This is a place where locals go.
If we want Indian food we go yo The Himalayan Kitchen.
