Island Bay Medical Centre reviews
11This medical practice is one of the worst I have ever been to. The drs dont respect appointment times. I have waited for 45 mins on two separate occasions and the one time i was 3 mins late for my toddlers appointment the Dr had a go at me for not being on time even though I had called saying I was going to be a few minutes late. They also have a ridiculous intitial appointment when you sign up for a full checkup where they charge alot. They also are not very useful as on most of my appointments my issues have not been resolved. I do not recommend this practice. Its more of a business rather than actually caring for people.
$21 for printing a script, you're having a laugh! I'll definitely looking around for a new doctor.
Have been coming to this Medical centre my whole life, i now no longer live in island bay but will always make the trip in for my appointments.
My experience has been professional, thorough and caring with Dr, nurses and receptionists. Like all Drs there is a wait, depending on patients needs.
Excellent doctor clinic. My doctor was so kind and caring and really listened to my needs. A good experience right from checking in with the receptionist until the end. Thank you!
Enrolled as a new patient only to be told that I'd need a 30 minute initial appointment with the doctor. Now I understand the need for this but I'd never experienced this kind of policy before and having just moved to Wellington I didn't have a spare $100. I told them this and asked would it be OK to just have a standard 15 minute appointment, but they wouldn't budge.
I asked for the practice manager to give me a call and instead of calling me she called my next of kin and left a message on her voicemail asking for me by my middle name. Enough to say that I'll now be enrolling elsewhere.

Doctors are good but usually 30 to 60 minutes late.it would help if reception gave you a heads up when you signed in.
Please tell the Health Minister and Jacinda that medical care shouldn't only be available for people with less than 12 months to live.
It's very wrong that people suffer and die because of nasty politicians.
Children and poor people deserve a chance at life too.
Was refused access to my previous doctor, who moved to this clinic from Newtown because I do not live close enough to the Island Bay area.
This is my local medical centre. Staff & Doctors are friendly and caring, often going above and beyond what is expected to ensure that their patients are seen & looked after well.
