KANGSTA - Korean Gluten Free Restaurant reviews
38Food was good. Felt the guy behind the counter wasn't very friendly as was not polite nor was there any smile at all. Didn't seem he enjoys his job, but he did make good food apart from the dry chicken. I would try it again but perhaps get something else.
Just great. Good food. Gluten free galore, good servings and quick service.
Don't recommend if you hate cabbage or flavourful food.
10 out of 5 for Deliciousness Guy's cooking/serving were so polite and helpful with our allergies GF clean premises, would eat there everyday if I lived in Wellington.
Highly recommend to anyone
Flavorsome food! I'm celiac and didn't have any problems. Will definitely be back.
Only small but knew all about allergies and cross contamination.
Highly recommend.
Really great! Food is fresh and full of flavour. Try the gluten free chicken ️ Yes if you order "hot" it will be spicy as! PS The less than favourable reviews on here are unsurprisingly not very helpful and very nitpicky.
Ordered a halloumi salad to takeaway for $14.50. There was a generous portion of mixed leaves like tatsoi, dandelion greens, purple cabbage, carrots and alfalfa sprouts. The halloumi was delicious and balanced the light salad well. It was dressed in basil oil and balsamic vinegar, with sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, adding extra flavour and crunch. It could have done with something more filling as well - maybe some beans, grains or avocado? Otherwise a fresh salad with quality ingredients.
Worst bibimbap ever, it was cold with tons of chilli sauce, the rice was literally soaked in hot sauce. I can handle spicy food, but it was just so salty and all I can taste was the hot sauce. Plus the staff always has a cold attitude, definitely won't go there again
I'm not from Wellington fabulous place to eat we were able to go twice and will definitely go again when next in Wellies. Great price, quick service, friendly especially when I kept mucking up my cards had to transfer extra funds from one account to the other before I could pay and used the wrong card the second time he was all good about it both times and waited patiently with a genuine smile. We had Popcorn Chicken w rice and salad x3, Doobu, Daxgalbi [not sure if I've spelt this correct as I'm going on my memory] and Vege & Kimchi Mandu absolutely delicious. I feel I have to add this, there must be some sort of medicinal benefits in the food, because I suffered an accident in January and from that time until Tuesday 26th May [at the time we ate] the pain was excruciating my GP limited my pain relief because I have one kidney so the pain would still be present everyday. After eating this food the pain was drastically reduced, please don't say it was because it was gluten free, I am already using gluten free products and therefore my belief it is the food on that basis alone I will definitely be going back to Kangsta Korean Restaurant. Thank you Kangsta!
Found this place because it was recommended on UberEats. We didn't know many places because we aren't from Wellington, it was the best thing we ate the whole week we were there and I regret so much that we didn't order it again! Xx next time I will dedicate buying one of everything!
Definitely awesome gluten free would have been five starts but the language barrier sometimes gets you a different meal to what you ordered lol
For the price you pay and the servings you get it is just sad. Also if you order extra sauce it is in a pottle rather than over the meal (which makes it even harder because its in a bowl)
Ordered 2 meals, haven't finished explaining the order for the 1st food before the guy hurried me up saying "yea yea yea". And then messed up my 2nd order -_- he was still arguing he made the right order.very sure I said chicken and not tofu, mate! I can be forgiving if the beginning service was better. If it's not late at night and don't have a sleeping baby, I would argue more for my chicken.
Food was good and made fresh: worth one star each.
$16 a meal, expected better service!
Food was reasonalby pricey but there's a good range of food in each dish. The service was alrught, and there was a reasonable wait, but the food tasted great.
I read all the reviews before going and was seriously I'll prepared. The one guy that works there was friendly and attentive. Most of the food offerings are gluten free. There is no cabinet food or cakes. And they only take cash. Of which, I had none so I can't tell you if the food was any good.
Waaaaay too much sugar. I ordered the bibimbap, and was extremely disappointed. Sugary, and just a tossed salad with egg and pork. Have had much better.
Mouthwateringly delicious Korean food. Can be a bit of a wait, though. Also, bring cash if you don't have a domestic credit or debit card.
Tasty Korean fare, quick service in a fun setting at the the Capital Market Food Court. Will go again.
Grilled meat dish actually contains too little meat to be called 'grilled meat' and cost as much as it does. Cabbage in it is overdone and its sour-bitter taste overpowers all the other flavours. There's no mention in the menu that the rice served with this 'grilled meat' will be purple rice¯_ (ツ) _/¯. Surprise surprise! The sauce of your choice cannot be felt at all, perhaps again thanks to the brown fried to death cabbage. I guess there are better options on the menu and we were simply not very lucky to pick this one, but then there's a question why would one keep such disappointment on the menu at all.
