Karori Park Fish and Chips

Exceptional food and service! We started ordering fangs a little over a year ago now and have never been let down.

Love the food here I like the fact there is variety to choose from it's great for me and my family of 5 a little something for all of us.

Awesome service - we had quite a few preferences to our food but the lady managed to took them down all! Everything was perfect, especially the kumara chips. So soft and fluffy and sweet, greatly recommend.

I don't know what tallow is but found out the hard way that I don't like it. Braised beef noodle soup was top notch.

Our local fish n chips place. New owner had fee patchy months but nailed the cooking. Crispy and just enough of crispness. Highly recommend karori fish n chips place!

Great selection of foods. Service is always helpful. Asked if they can make some of the dishes vegetarian, and it was no trouble.

Awseome customer service.and even though I was quite piticular of how I wanted my food Fangs takeaway still did a excellent job.

Used to be a fan! Asked for underdone and garlic chips be seperate from the rest of the food, waited 40minutes and when I got home the chips were all over cooked and crunchy and some of them were burnt black! I rang the shop and DAVID turned around and said “first of all we don’t have black chips” and hung up. Tried to ring back he refused to get on the phone. Took the food back, and showed him! Still no apology just young David refusing to apologise or acknowledge the burnt chips. Justifying it because it wasn’t noted to have my order underdone and apparently half the chips being burnt and the rest over cooked isn’t a big deal! You shouldn’t let David deal with customers. A paying customer should be listened to not called a liar and hung up on. Not be dismissed when in store. Rudely handed my money back, still no apology! Will absolutely never return to this shop! Worst customer service! I would’ve been fine with an apology but nope!

Edit.reply to Alan. I have photos of more than 3/4 chips being burnt black.the portion was not huge but I will acknowledge every other time I have been in the portions have been a lot bigger. A female took my order over the phone and it was repeated so unsure who you spoke to. If David was busy he should never have taken the phone to then tell me I was lying and hang up. Who then could still not apologise once I was in the store. The whole order was over cooked, there were between 10-15 chips burnt black and this whole shrug of the shoulders like David done in store with the attitude of a few burnt chips, no problem is appalling… given the cost per scoop!

Massive portions for the asian food and tasty too. Fish is always good, if they made their chips in house it'd be perfect!

Excellent Bambi Goreng and the rest of the whanau enjoyed the fish and chips and wontons. Great customer service (spoke to someone called David on the phone who was very kind and helpful). Much better than the old Karori Park Fish and Chips. Highly recommended.

Great service! They went out of their way to deliver our meals when our car battery was unexpectedly flat.

This place has been the go to since I was a kid. It's just as good as ever with some new owners. Great chips.

Just ordered and paid online - which had listed the shop as open. Went to pick up the order and it's closed. Hopefully I can get my $62 back. I liked the food when we previously got it from here (under new owners) but this is a pretty awful experience. I'd suggest ringing and not ordering online.
Update: As per response below, I can confirm the refund was processed. Their response was appreciated.

It’s not the same Karori Park Fish and Chips that we all loved. Quality of the food has gone down significantly… very sad

Seems to have had a change of management/ownership in 2022.
Some of the stock products used (hot dogs and such) aren't up to the standard of 2021.
It's sad to have the local chippies standards faĺ so rapidly and I'm going up the street now.

They falsely advertise they are open from 4pm everyday on the window and on internet. Don’t bother turning up until at least 4: 30, you’ll waste a lot of time. Please improve this service in future.
