Kelburn Cafe reviews
28AMAZING coffee! Amazing service, very kind people AND with being a barista in my previous life, I can say with confidence that they make beautiful coffee. Which is equally amazing and bad given I live just around the corner! Plus their cheese scones are also insanely good.
Local cafe, coffee always wonderful here. Grab a table outside and enjoy the sunshine, you can't beat Wellington on a good day!
Changing my previous positive review based on recent experiences. Used to enjoy the service in this delightful cafe, but lately the service has been well below par. Waiting about 40 minutes or more for breakfast, maybe more. This is now becoming the norm. No apologies offered. Then drinks brought to us at different times, so once one person finished their drink, the other finally got theirs. Usually drinks brought in much the same time so people can enjoy together. Cafe only small and wasn't that busy, yet service very slow. One of the worst I have experienced. Since this has been happening a few times now, I'm beginning to take it personally. Pity, used to really love coming here. Debating whether to return.
We stopped in while walking the dog, seating outside was limited but after 5 min we managed to get a small 2 person table our pup could sit under for shade.
We had an iced choc & a milkshake to drink and a chicken filo and a bacon&egg slice to eat. Food was heated & came with a small side salad plus a bowl of relish. Everthing was delicious. Cost $32 which we felt was very reasonable.
Even though the road outside is pretty busy it still felt relaxing to sit in the sun & watch the world go by
Good coffee. Owner run café in Kelburn Village. Simple food but tasty and prepared well. Must add there is soothing music in the background. Friendly, relaxing atmosphere.a great place to chill.
Lovely little café with some seating along the curb. Good coffee and a great place to sit, watch the passers-by or do your work!
Awesome cafe. Great sunny spot too. Friendly staff so definitely recommended. Eggs Benedict was really good and the flat white with oat milk was perfect. My wife has avacado on toast with a frothy hot chocolate which she really enjoyed. Parking can be a challenge and not many seats so be patient in the village. Take aways also available if you are in a hurry.
Great little cafe that is very welcoming to everyone:) Delicious avocado on toast, coffee and cakes:)
Great. Typical experience today: blueberry friand, delicious ("would you like butter or yoghurt? " "both please"; came with a little bowl of each) ; the BLAT pictured ("would you like it toasted? " "no, but could you take the bacon out and heat it on the grill, then serve it? " "sure! ") ; a flat white (beautiful, tasty) ; and a hot chocolate. Kids had toys to play with, the other patrons kindly swapped tables with us so all five of us could fit, it wasn't too loud, it wasn't too hot or too cold.and still great a couple of years later.
Breakfast food for lunch. Can't go wrong. Big breaks was just that. Coffee was hot. Top marks.
Great cafe and right next door! Often pop across to grab an excllent coffee and snack. Welcoming and friendly with an upstairs and outdoor seating.
About to become a regular.
Service was quick coffee is good and the food very nice and tasty, smoothie colorful n great flavor.
Great coffe. Reasonably priced food. Always friendly staff serving. Very clean would recommend going.
Lovely little café with an upstairs area. Always friendly service and very obliging. Very nice food and drink. We love to come here when we come into Kelburn from Lower Hut.
Great coffee and tea. Lovely owners! I really enjoy sitting upstairs, soaking up the sun and reading a good book.
As a semi local this is one of my regular coffee spots.i prefer this to the other local coffee shop, as it has a chilled vibe, good basic cabinet food and coffee is generally very good (though can vary depending on who is on as barista). I especially like reading the paper while having morning coffee. The cafe is ideally located for people watching (if thats your thing) and being north facing it catches the sun on a nice day, which you can enjoy with the outside tables. The cafe is well laid out with the counter by the entrabce so its very convient to grab coffee on the run. Many locals use this as a meeting point
The best soy latte I v had in Wellington. I live on taranaki street and hike up to Kelburn just for their soy latte.
Got bacon and eggs. Poached eggs were over cooked, and the toast was burnt even more than the coffee.
Lovely brew and nice staff. Decor could do with a bit of an update, but is located in a very sunny spot.
Eggs benné was okay, had worse before.
Average hollandaise sauce and menu said streaky bacon but it was clearly a middle which wasnt great. Cannot pay via Credit card either.
