Lovely setting for a meal and nice staff - however, we found the curry to be very watery (mango chicken) - naan bread to be very dry and food in general to be lacking flavour.

Best Indian food in Wellington. An all time favourite of mine and always top service. Have been there many times and have always been impressed. Recently had a group of 14 of us there for my birthday and everyone raved about how wonderful it was. Thank you Jugnu and team:)

This was the best curry we have had in a very long time. My partner is in the fishing industry and rated the Gurnard in the Bengali Fish curry the best he had ever tasted. It is hard to cook Gurnard in a curry as it is a delicate fish, but the chef did a stunning job. I had the Tikka Masala and it was beautiful. The service was superb, not intrusive but responsive, they didn't take your plate away until we had both finished - that is great service. Would highly recommend and will be back. Thank you

Very bad service went there and the lady took wrong order after half an hour they bring wrong food and still we let it go after 20 minutes they bring cold food, then I ask for more naan and then the lady said the kitchen is already close and being very rude. At last, they charged us for 2 curries whereas we only order 1 curry, very bad service and worst staff.

We went for my partners 30th - lots of people and pre-ordered, the food came out super quick and they let us have our own birthday cakes etc, really helpful and organised and everyone loved the food! Also have a full vegan and veggie menu so caters for everyone!

We didn't have a great time here. It was priced like an expensive indian restaurant so our expectations were set accordingly.

Some of the staff were pretty awkward to the point of being a little rude. One of them was helping serve tables even though he was dressed in jeans, a tatty shirt, and a baseball cap which I found very confusing. (A couple of the staff were nice though - I don't want to rip into all of them because a few bad people).

The tables and chairs were weird. The tables were huge and high up, and the seats were low. It felt weird sitting so far away from my partner even though we were at a table for two.

The food was average. There are much better indian places around the block that charge the same or less.

This would have all made the place a 2 star, but then we found a sharp bone in some of the chicken.

This is the kind of place that would probably be ok if you're looking to get drunk with some friends (we saw a table get some sort of awful massive beer column with a tap on it). Do not take a date here or anyone that you want to impress. We tried it once, we will not be coming back.

Disappointed. Have checked the menu before arrival. We were expecting a decent amount of the dishes considering the price. But then realized Tiny portion of butter chicken or other dishes for more than $20? !And it somehow tasted saltier than other places. Wouldn't recommend going here if u looking for sth cheaper.

Probably the best Jugnu's little India in the town.
Same menu, different ambience and awesome staff.
Good paid parking right in the street.

On a trip to Wellington from Cambridge we called in after a long walk on a cold evening and was blown away. I have had many Indian meals and this one at Jugnus was up there at the top. Delicious meal. Fresh ingredients right down to the onions. Awesome venue for big or intimate meals. Attentive service from the staff. Top marks.

Dissappointing, had high hopes for some good food.
I saw several people go inside so I gussed it awould be ok.
The table I had upstairs was besides the window but everything stuck to the table, the napkin, the water glasss, plate and even me after just a couple of seconds of contact. I had to put some effort to lift the water glass from the table.
The food wasnt fantastic espcially considering the prices charged.
The waitresses were pleasant and efficient but it wasnt enough to make up for the food.
Free water available.
Not disabled friendly entrance and several sets of stairs inside so best to avoid if mobility issues.
Cash accepted.
Debit and Credit cards accepted with no credit card fee.

The food was overly salty. The service was slow, and we waited an hour for our food, in spite of booking ahead for a large group. Some of the orders for our table were wrong.

Quite dissapointing really, came as part of a group, food was slow, with several missing or incorrect orders, the food was decent, but not amazing, overly salty:/

Sitting arrangements was nice but food was alright.
Good for the kiwis but not for Indians. Nan Bread was not cooked properly and curries were not hot when served and took adges to serve one table.

My first choice when it comes to dine out/takeaway with family was Little India Lower Hutt/Wellington/Porirua. But definitely this choice would change from tonight's experience. Customer Service at its LOWEST.
I live in Johnsonville and ordered Aloo Saag for takeaway at Blair Street branch. Came home, opened the food and the smell was bad. My wife checked and then again I myself checked- still was'nt right. Ok, called the restaurant and informed about bad smell. The response from Manager was- "I have taken 10 orders today for this meal and nobody has complained" That's such a rude way of handling a customer query/complaint. I insisted that the curry smells bad and I can come back again and get Karahi Paneer instead. The manager agreed. At 9: 00pm almost closing time, I drove back again from Johsonville to City to swap the curry. The manager handed the Aloo Saag to 3 Chefs in the kitchen who started eating and did'nt say anything. The manager came out with my Karahi Paneer and said your food is ready. I said "I can pay the balance of 2 dollars for Karahi Paneer. " To my great surprise- the manager did'nt even say No and took the extra 2 dollars which I am absolutely fine with. I told him, mate I would personally request you to plz smell it once. He still insisted and was adamant that there is nothing wrong. I came back home.

Overall: There was not even a single instance where the Manager apologized or accepted what I was saying. Mate- why would I drive from Johnsonville to City again at 9: 00 to swap a curry and pay extra 2 dollars. Would'nt be for fun I am sure. I myself have been working in Hospitality from past 11 years. You did not care to apologize or accept or offer complimentary. I belong from Punjab village where Saag is cooked almost everyday in winters. I better know the taste and smell of it than that from you and your chefs. I am not from Mumbai or Gujarat where people would'nt know the authentic SAAG's smell or taste. Totally disappointed, would prefer going to other Indian restaurant's where customer query is at least heard rather that totally negating it. Good Luck
