Lower Hutt After Hours Medical Centre

Maybe you should put on your website that you aren't seeing hutt city health centre patients anymore. Not really the patients fault that you and hchc have had a falling out and their Dr's won't work at the after hours anymore. You guys will gladly see all the refugees but will try to turn away Lower Hutt born residents. Receptionist super rude and the wait time is ridiculous. $115 later and some much needed antibiotics after a 2 min consult with the dr. Absolutely disgusting. Hope like hell we don't ever get sick after hours again.

Poor service! Rude staff and unusually long wait time! A hungry sick child is no bother for them! Overall, zero star!

Staff were fantastic, it was super busy as to be expected but we were still well looked after. The nurse I had, British, was lovely, thorough and very friendly. Thank you for looking after us.

Waited for far too long, we arrived here registered told to wait in the car outside the clinic and will ring you when available, seeing the first group left and new patients coming in and see them left and we are still waiting till the last and my son has to enter the clinic from the back door and after the doctor consultation and told my son to leave from the back door the nurse told me to get out of the clinic to wait for my son, as she very rude to me that I took photos of that pharmacy. And when I walk outside my son told me his Dr advise him to inform me to get the prescriptions and get the medication but the nurse not giving me the prescription unless I wait outside, while I waited for a while, still nothing and I went in and ask for the medication but was told to wait until the police arrived and without collect medication and kick me out and I just drove home with my son empty handed
After arriving home I was sitting in my car outside the road for about half an hour and I ring my neighbor to help me get my son medication, so my neighbor went and got it for us, greatful and thank you to my neighbor
New Zealand Clinics are all rubbish

I really don't appreciate the $180 cost for my partner or the 3+ hour wait times because kids 14 and under get in free and are prioritised the same. I've also come here with a cut tendon, and slipped disc. The wait times are horrendous.

Please stop prioritising free kids over paying customers unless they want to pay.

Got there at opening time with only a few people in front of me and it took 3 hours for a doctor just for them to tell me they don’t know what I have and just gave me Panadol and to go to the hospital if it gets worse. Also such a rip off price as I should of only been charged 70 but she tried to charge me 90 and then realised i was right after her saying no several times.

Thank you to the wonderful people who saw my 88 year old friend on 31 December. The person at the front desk, the nurse and the doctor, were all exceptional in responding to his needs, listening carefully to what was happening with him, asking questions in a friendly plain-english way and explaining to both he and I what was happening for him, his treatment including the medication being prescribed and the care he required when he returned home. This exceptional service all delivered with out a hint of any haste, even though there were numerous people waiting to be seen with a wait time of up to three hours.
Thank you again for being there for our community after hours and the professional and caring service you provided; so much appreciated.

After a bike accident I went along to the after hours medical centre as I was visiting the area. I just wanted to say the care experience was very friendly and professional all the way through the visit from the receptionist, nurse and doctor. Thank you.

What an amazing experience the entire team from the 1st time we entered the door was amazing, DR Amith Sebastian was absolutely fantastic, Made my wife and my little daughter feel at ease. Thanks guys service like this is not easy to get nowadays, Keep up the good work a real happy patient. Cheers

This is the second time in last few months that we attempted to use the Hutt Valley’s ONLY after hours service, unsuccessfully.

We arrived more than an hour before closing (both times) only to be told they’re not seeing anymore patients.

I’ve noticed that over the years the opening hours have reduced considerably…I thought this service was so GPS didn’t have to be on call over night for their enrolled patients?

After the Upper Hutt after hours service closed, the demand must have increased?
I would have thought that being open to meet this demand (the entire Hutt Valley) would be a no brainer and reduce the overload in ED? I guess that’s not important anymore? Would love to hear the logic behind this.

A really caring and efficient team. Despite the massive influx of patients all of a sudden, all the staff were polite and thorough with examinations. I was assessed by a kind nurse fairly quickly then given the option to sit in the car and wait for the doctor. This is a really good idea because it allowed a breath of fresh air and a comfortable seat. The wait for the doctor was also pretty short. Despite the long queue of patients, the doctor was very calm and thorough. He didn't rush his examinations, gave a good explanation, thorough advice, and answered all my questions.

We hesitate if should go to the after hours after seeing the reviews. However, it turned out very satisfied visiting today. We were given a separate room for waiting as the baby is only a month old. Of course there is a bit longer waiting than normal. But I reckon this is a new “normal” after Covid.

Receptionist gale is super rude, talks about patients to colleagues at the front desk and i asked after waiting 2 and a half hours with my 6 month old baby where we were in the queue and she scoffed at me. I get that it's stressful, yeah you're busy but you're being paid to deliver a service, why make the experience for the patients waiting less enjoyable

Took our young toddler here. Grateful to have places like these open ok weekends to help us. Not sure why there's so many negative reviews.

Great service, handy having pharmacy on-site, the 1 star raters need to remember showing up close to closing time is not the brightest idea for any business in turn you are the rude ones, I'm just glad there is an afterhours in the Hutt imagine the ED waittime without it, yea you may wait an hour or 2 but better than 6 right. Keep up the hard work

Professional receptionist, nurse, and doctor. Didn't have to wait long. Bonus that the pharmacy is right there (who were very quick).

Deserve no stars. Come in on a Sunday, with only 2 people befor me, takes nearly a hour and I still havnt been seen. So slack, it's like you don't even care to get us seen to, sit there waiting for nothing. Your service has gone worse.
