Mama Brown reviews
76The food was ok but nothing to rave about. Service was prompt and friendly. We ate lunch on a two for one special and would say that if we had paid full price then it would have been ridiculously expensive for what we ate.
Ordered the chicken and pulled pork burger, with chips via uber. Chicken burger was cold and dry, almost like the breast had been sitting there all day and slapped into a bun. Would have thought given the price this wouldn't be a problem.
As for a "southern friend chicken burger" the chicken was more "lightly seasoned" with southern spices and grilled. It was like going to KFC, only to find someone had eaten the batter (but drier).
Chips were hot though so small bonus? Outside of one drink being forgotten.
Probably wouldn't go again given the price and what was received - pretty average. And ordering takeout with half the meal hot, the other half needing a microwave isn't what I'd want to do again.
Pretty good, the chicken and waffles stole the show. Beef Nachos have an interesting set-up, but still not too shabby.
Would be 5 stars but my only complaint is if you are someone who struggles with mobility there is large step to get into the building. I have no mobility issues personally but the step is rather large and my friends and whanau with mobility issues wouldn't be able to get in. Otherwise good food, amazing milkshakes, and brilliant staff.
The wings was delicious. The staff were so awesome too.especially thanks to Natasha at the wellington mama browns. I recommend this to anyone.
Quite cold and run down interior. Service was good but the food was less than mediocre. Fries seemed old and tough and I even chipped my back tooth on a crunchie part of the fries. Nacho mince far too spicy we couldnt share any with our child. Dont think we'll go back to be very honest. On a good note the banoffee shake was yummy.
Food is average for the price. Did a 3 hour unpaid trail shift with the promise of a meal after and never got it. Don’t support these people.
We had a booking for 12 of us and the team did awesome to make things so easy we had the booth seating area which was great for our larger people of our group everyone loved the food. Our sons 13th finished on great note with the staff and the whole restaurant singing happy birthday:) thanks team for a great night
First visit to Mama Brown's. Busy place, so lucky we booked. I had the Southern Chicken waffles, so tasty. It is a filling meal so no room for dessert on this visit.
Friendly helpful staff and great vibe. Some seats look like ex bus aeroplane seats.
I think that the flavours in the food could have used a bit more diversity. It didn’t taste as good as I hoped so I didn’t feel like it matched the price it was charging. The milkshakes on the other hand were incredible so I’d definitely recommend them
Brilliantly served with lots of sprinkles of humour by Jonno. Cheers to the kitchen staff for the awesome food. Surprisingly the food was served before the drinks. No complaints. Surely Will be back. Keep up the brilliant service.
Was a very good experience everyone was lovely and helpful. Food was good arrived on time. They were also patient when my 1 year old was screaming
This place is insane if you have a sweet tooth. Lots of options, milkshakes were huge, waffles nice. Couldn’t finish it all, big portions so come hungry. Very “instagram-y” food if you’re into that.
I don't usually leave reviews for businesses (because I forget) but I absolutely had to this time. We had our twin daughters'16th birthday dinner at Mama Browns and the food and most importantly the service was AMAZING! It was a large crowd yet the food came in a timely fashion and was yummy. The staff were lovely and accommodating from the minute we stepped in the door. I strongly recommend Mama Browns to anyone. Thanks guys you really made it a birthday to remember for both my daughters.
The atmosphere is fun but the food is only okay. Can't really complain about it but there was nothing special about it.
I don't understand the hype.
The food was okay loved the milkshake super good. Couldn’t finish it definitely worth the price. Ordered pork rib it was okay not much meat in the bone and also the chilli cheese fries? But the only thing was we had to ask for cutlery. We were given nothing. But overall it was okay probably because it was the busy hour. Keep up the good work!
Everything was super yum, highly recommended the waffles, and the chicken tacos. Oh, and any of their shakes.
