Ming Du Chinese Takeaways & Deliveries

I've been visiting this take away for almost 3 years. I really love the chicken roti wrap. I Managed to introduce my partner and all my friends to this food and we've all fallen in love.

It's really one of the most ok places I've been. Food is pretty bland but it's alright I guess. Decent if you want passable food and experience.

Sorry but the food here was so disappointing. The crispy chicken was inedible. It was drenched in salt and was so leathery I think they gave us the weekends leftover chicken. The wontons were greasy with little meat and the sweet and sour pork was mainly battered batter. I think it was a bad day to order because there was no love in this meal and for $90 I’m really gutted we wasted our money. Will stick to Wing long in future. I hope they get on Uber Eats.

Great food, friendly and efficient service. It is so convenient to get takeaway on the way home after a long working day. The meatballs are to die for, and everything in the mouthwatering buffet is super delicious.

Great Chinese takeway shop! Went here to get some dinner tonight. I got the orange beef which was absolutely delicious. It had a nice sauce on top of the beef and the beef it self was delicious. The portion of beef and rice within the dish was very good at a very reasonable price of $17. The staff in the shop were also very friendly and nice. Ming Du is my go to chinese takeway within Wellington. The dishes here are allways very good and I would highly recommend trying one of there soups. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here.

Brought from here tonight, had good reviews on uber eats! Ordered some wontons, a pineapple fritter and a hotdog.
The wontons had basically no meat in them and was only pastry, the pineapple fritter was nice and the hot dog tasted as if it had been sitting out all day.
Was disappointed.

Absolutely love this place. Fish n chips and burgers are delicious, friendly, positive, customer service, clean areas and the Asian cuisine is delicious as well! Highly reccomend

Tasty and interesting Asian food. It is flavoursome and light (not gluggy) Lucky to have in our local village.

Wow, such yummy chips, terakihi was perfect, delicious crab stick. Served by a lovely young man. Great service.

This place has poor Chinese food. The flavours are flat and not authentic. Some of the dishes have the same seasoning very disappointing

Have been going to Ming Du for chinese takeaway for over 18 years now. Consistently IMHO the best chinese takeaway in Wellington. My very first experience with hot and sour soup all those years ago, even today I am pressed to find a better iteration locally of this classic recipe. Really happy that, since we no longer live in Karori, they still deliver to us via Uber Eats. A+

Not impressed to watch the person taking and handing out orders to be standing there in full view sticking his finger in his ear then coughing in to his t shirt and not making any effort at basic hygene

Ming du NEVER disappoints! I am a frequent local customer and have been eating here for years. Sometimes the only thing that can cheer me up is Ming du! The staff are lovely and the food is beyond delicious every single time! By far the best takeaways in Wellington. Huge menu and both the fish and chips and the Malaysian kitchen are must try’s!

Fantastic food. The chicken fried rice is excellent. We tried 7 dishes and everyone rated them highly.

Really disappointed. Wonton soup isn't authentic wonton soup. The wontons were dumplings with loads of pastry. Tasteless meat and soup. Pork fried rice was average. Nasi goreng much better than the rest however. Deep fried wontons were very small with way too much pastry again. Flavour less meat. To make things even worse, the uber driver left it on the doorstep and never knocked to let us know which is out of the restaurants control but food was left outside. Won't be eating here again.

Really friendly service. Nice and cosy restaurant as they have the heater going. Really really loved the food. Would definitely be back again!

Dodgy and sly. Paid extra for a Mr Seafood mussel fritter and they gave me one of their cheaper inhouse mussel fritters instead.
