New Fortuna Restaurant reviews
59Great food, I can’t honestly say the same for the service as the man behind the counter raised his voice at us, I don’t think he liked the way we packed our takeout
Wonderful food. Restaurant was busy but while staff was limited they were friendly and quick.
Very good food, the price is good, we eat a lot of chinese and this is up there with the best.will always get my chinese here.
Went there for yum cha. Food was nice and it was great that you could choose the items you wanted off the menu. Service was excellent
Excellent place for a whole range of Asian dishes. The steamed whole fish, garlic boc choy and vegetable dishes are excellent.
We were told great things about New Fortuna. From a price point it's not to bad, unfortunately the quality of the food was not up to standard, we felt like we were being served roast duck that was days old, didn't come with plum sauce, crispy fried chicken was not up to standard either, meat was dry and yet skin was on the soggy side. Entrees were good, couldn't fault it other than the filling used is different from most chinese restaurants. Atmosphere was good, other than the tick layer of dust we saw on the ornaments on the ceiling. Overall did not live up to standards.
By far the best yumcha I've ever been too. Beautiful service, Affordable prices, clean and timely. Overall great experience!
I live YumCha and have eaten it in Hongkong and many places. I rate this restaraunt highly for taste, service, and price. It's definitely not the cheapest but the portions are huge. I've never actually seen DimSum that big before!
Place itself is a bit dated but who cares, the food is excellent. Second best place in Wellington but the other place is even more expensive so I always come here now
好吃. 巨大點心!
This place is always under-staffed so the service isn't great. Atmosphere is OK. Food is generally pretty good.
Excellent service. Super delicious and fresh food. Nice dècor. Yummy jasmine tea and fun to share food on the lazy susans. Only thing that would stop me recommending it to everyone was the state of the toilets. Not disgusting but dirty walls and floors that could easily be cleaned but obviously hadn't been for a very long time.
Average. Those 5 star ratings means they haven't tried the good stuff. This place was my favorite many years ago but the chef/owner must of left and it was down hill. Quality went down and price went up. Thought give them a go after many years and it's still not good. Food is very average but it's still packed, had to wait for a table. Wasn't cheap either.
What doesn't Jackson Street have?
Features most of your favs, Har Gao, Shumai, etc.
Had our work function here lovely food & atmosphere, amazing service Jason who looked after our team thank you so much for your hospitality, highly recommended, what an awesome team
Go here all the time for dinner - they have an all day yumcha menu and it's awesome hehe
We really enjoyed this restaurant. The sweet n sour pork was amazing! We were so impressed we went back the following night and tried different meals and they were just as scrumptious! Lovely staff they couldn't do enough for you. Thank you.
I tried yum cha for the first time and omg Delicious My favorite would have to be Steam pork buns and Pork dim Sims xox And love the servers as well
Love coming here, one of the best tasting Yum Cha offerings in Wellington Region. Great taste adventure! And friendly and quick service. We also just had our first evening visit, totally yummy, absolutely recommended!
Always great, whether it's some duck, king bao, or just popping in for dumplings and jasmine tea. Always a favourite.
Nice little restaurant with good decorative renovation. Food is also above average. Highly recommended
Found this place randomly. Was on ways to clocktower bakery then seen a small door leading upstairs to this hidden gem. Full of people. Nice food, decent. Service not bad. Some of our food items we ordered off menu didn't turn up but didn't matter cos we were full from the trolley service. Would recommend. Generous price compared to other establishments around wellington.
