Ora Toa Poneke Medical Centre reviews
7Mixed feelings. I've had my private information leaked because they didn't want to invest in a robust system in place. I have had several doctors imply that I was getting scripts from other surgeries. I had my own GP say to me, I guess you're not selling it during a pretty trying time my life, fa from it. I was insulted and angry, but I didn't comment at least at the time, but it was internalised. An unfortunate incident when a GP I saw once because of her behaviour, treatment me at the time like I'm an addict when I was only given codeine when I was living with horrific chronic pain from injury. I had an apology from the GP a the time due to her lack duty of care only to give me the riot-act a number act a number of years later due to losing a controlled drug, which was partly due to bad memory from several concussions illustrating her lack of foresight, a level of empathy and other all respect for patients. Collectively, some of the experiences mentioned go back six years, but no means are an exhaustive list. Only recently while seeing a 'health coach' recommended from my GP informed she didn't believe in it when I was discussing adhd. The more disturbing incident was being prescribed a drug that shouldn't be administered despite having an adverse effect when combined with a more recent drug. I had been living with the negative side effects for a number of months. I've given up complaining directly to the client and Ministry of Health process is largely lacklustre and wholly disappointing, at best they will send a letter of complaint. The best I'm feeling is letting people know what you are potentially signing up to could be more incentive to change a prejudiced environment.
Modern clinic with lovely doctors and very reasonable prices ($17.50 for an ordinary appointment). It can be hard to get an appointment and they don't seem to check their emails, but otherwise it's great. Kia Ora Ngāti Toa!
This place always has ya best interest at heart. The doctor was so lovely and can't have had a better experience. Everytime I go to the doctors the receptionist are amazing always. Thank you all so much.
Heavily pregnant and disabled and they tell me to come into the clinic to then tell me at the clinic that they won’t accept me. Questions like those could of been done over the phone. Seriously disappointed, she wanted to find a reason to not take me on. Shame as I heard good reviews on the practise and I have a lot of complex medical issues that I thought they could help with.
Talking about car parks for ppl with very limited mobility, i used to be a patient at hall st which was ok, then the shift to basin reserve so ceos flat upstairs could watch cricket n no car parks, sucks for me had to find new dr.
Doctor, nurses and receptionists I've met are all great. Service is very good and I've had no bother getting an appointment. Highly recommended.
